- EEElisaAug 21, 20251.0I brought my kitten in early June for his initial vet visit after getting him in late May. During this time he received his rabies vaccination and a FIV/FeLV and fecal test were apparently ordered. No physical sample was ever taken in house nor was I provided with any materials to collect it outside, however, I was still charged for a service that I did not receive. Similarly, the clinic apparently had computer issues that did not allow them to sync with Petco’s records so I am unable to see the test results of the FIV/FeLV test online, nor did I ever receive a call from the clinic (mind you this has been over two months ago). I recently took my kitten to another PETCO/Vetco clinic for the FIV vaccine and they as well were unable to access any records from Southpaw showing that he had tested negative for FIV, which they require prior to vaccination. I called previously and have called twice again within the past few days regarding being billed for a service I never received and not receiving my kitten’s medical record. When I asked for his physical record as I am entitled to under Kansas law, the clinic refused to provide me with any physical record despite openly acknowledging that they are at fault for not properly uploading his record. If you would like to fraudulently be billed for services you did not receive and have your rights for Record Ownership and Access under Kansas law (which states that while the practice owns the records, the owner has the right to review them and obtain physical copies) violated, then I would 100% recommend this practice. If you actually care about your fur baby and want quality and ethical care, steer as far away as possible.

Now paying double or more for most services-- and have to take my 3 young cats to a *different* Vetco location to not be charged a separate exam fee for each along in addition to the basic vaccination charges (?), adding inconvenience on top of price-gouging. Miss the days of just Dr. C. and Wendy when Southpaw provided loving, accessible, high quality care for reasonable fees. :(
