I came here on November 14th around 7:00 p.m. for a walk-in euthanasia. Everybody was super kind and understanding. The doctor who perform the euthanasia was extremely comforting to me and soft-spoken, she walked me through what she was doing and how Bat, my 16-year-old cat, might respond to it. They let me have as much time as I needed with him before and after the procedure and they are extremely careful with him at all times. When I asked the vet tech for some of his fur, for she shaved off some of his normal black fur and also his special white spot on his chest. It's the little things like that that show that the team here truly cares.

All 3 of my pets have been here for different reasons, and they’ve all received great care here. They answer all your questions and provide a good care plan.

We were extremely disappointed in IVS. We took our Yorkie in late on October 30. After taking her in the back, they gave her Proviable -Forte and sent her home with ambiguous directions. On Sunday I called because she still Was not drinking. They told me they would call me back when they had a moment. They did not. I called again on Monday and finally talked to someone She was not getting better. I took her to another vet on Friday,Nov 7th. She was diagnosed with an ear and yeast infection. IVS had not even examined her ears The charge for very little care was over 1300 dollars. I would not recommend taking your pet to this facility

As always, incredibly thorough and competent care received from highly educated and utmost competent staff. This was the second time that Rhett received care at your clinic and I am always impressed and 100% satisfied. I can't recall the female doctor's name who treated my Shih Tzu Rhett on Sunday November 2nd late that night, but she was outstanding. I owe her a huge thank you for the care received and the new heart murmur diagnosis she detected in my dog Rhett. What I appreciated most is the trusted competent care I always receive there.

I called Iowa Veterinary Specialties around 9:00 PM because my 4-month-old puppy suddenly started smelling fishy. The lady who answered the phone immediately said their hospital policy requires a $280 parvo virus test just for them to even look at the puppy. That didn’t sit right with me, so I called another emergency vet. They calmly asked a few sensible questions, reassured me that it wasn’t an emergency, and helped me figure out what was really going on — all without pushing an unnecessary test. For the record, you should not pressure pet parents into expensive tests without reason. It feels shady and emotionally manipulative. I’d strongly suggest avoiding this place if you can.
