The resort was created back in the early 1960's by a family that moved down here from Massachussets. The name Sheldegren comes from the farm that the family owned which bordered three cities - Shelbourne, Deerfield and Greenfield. We purchased the resort in 2003 and proceeded to renovate every section.
The owners both grew up with all kinds of animals. They raised & bred German Shepherds and had a mini farm with horses, chickens, cats, dogs, and many others. Both have a great love of all animals.

We have 2 chihuahua’s that are tricky with getting their nails clipped and Sheldegren is the only one that they fully allow to work on them. For that we’re so grateful to them and we’re feeling lucky to have stumbled across them as well!! Highly Recommend!!
