This clinic attempted to upsell me for services that, by their own admission, would not have changed my cat’s quality of care. I should be able to trust a veterinarian’s recommendations without having to scrutinize whether I’m being overcharged.
I brought my cat in for treatment of a suspected UTI. The vet briefly outlined a treatment plan, then left the room. The technician presented me with a paper detailing a $500 care plan and asked, “So how are you feeling about this?” I was caught off guard by the price, but who am I to bargain with the vet's recommendation? I discussed the estimate with the technician while I came to terms with the cost. Only after several minutes of discussion did the technician present a second care plan that was nearly 35% cheaper! This second plan excluded several screenings that were apparently superfluous to my cat's treatment. Both plans were approved by the vet, and the technician assured me the second care plan made no compromises on care for my cat.

Our vet is so great! Friendly and personable and it feels like he really cares about our pup every time I bring her in.
The only complaint about the practice itself is the way they handle lab tests. Whether they do the test themselves or receive a test done externally, the follow-up is always a call from the receptionist who only ever starts with "do you have any questions about the results?". It might be a small complaint but what I was expecting is for someone to give me a call, explain to me the results of the lab and give me options on what to do from here. There's the expectation that I not only can read and interpret the lab results but also that I know what to do with them after? It just caught me off guard and I was hoping for more guidance from a professional.

Very expensive for the services provided. Nice people but are mandated to charge more for what can be gotten at a non big corp vet.

My husband and I brought our two-month-old kitten in for a check-up because we were concerned she had a UTI. Everyone we interacted with, from the front desk staff to the tech to the doctor, was awesome! We will continue to bring our fur babies to Marysville VCA!
