Heartbroken by the lack of care my dog received. I brought my French Bulldog to this emergency vet because she was disoriented, couldn’t walk, was extremely lethargic, and her eyes were glazed over. I told the staff how serious her condition was, yet they said she wasn’t urgent enough to be seen right away. We waited over 2½ hours before anyone examined her. When Dr. Steffanie Wagner finally came in, she told me my dog’s vitals “looked great” and her heart sounded fine. She then focused on how “Frenchies often have breathing problems because of their noses,” completely dismissing my concerns about her being unable to walk, her lethargy, and her glazed eyes. No one even asked how old she was, which felt shocking for an emergency evaluation. Dr. Wagner said my dog was “doing fine” in the oxygen chamber, but based on how she looked, I did not believe she was fine. I was told we’d need to do blood work and additional tests to “assess her further,” yet there was no sense of urgency or compassion. The whole experience felt detached and more focused on running up costs than actually helping her. I told Dr. Wagner I would take my dog to my regular vet in the morning. Tragically, she passed away in the early hours before I ever got that chance. I am devastated and angry that my concerns were ignored. I trusted this emergency hospital to take my dog’s condition seriously, and instead I left feeling dismissed and helpless. My dog deserved better care and attention than she received from Dr. Wagner and this clinic.

We’ve had some great experiences at VCA-CAH, a not great, and one absolutely awful experiences. In general, I trust CAH to do right by my pets; and it’s a comfort to know there is 24 hour care available. But - like I’ve always done with my children - I keep an eye on what’s happening, the care my pet is receiving, and ask for full explanations of everything before and after.

I took my dog in with fears she was developing a pyometra, they did an x-ray told us everything looked fine and sent us on our way. She progressively got worse and we took her in again, this time they did a ct scan and turns out she did have the infection and it had gotten bad. They quoted me 5000$ dollars for the surgery after I had already spent 1000$ for them to do nothing for her. We took her somewhere else and got it done for 2000$ save urself money and time and never come here.

We had to put our sweet boy down today and everyone was so kind when we came in as a walk-in. We originally went to the one on Creek Road and the lady at the front desk was so rude so we ended up going to this one, and they were kind And thoughtful and patient. thank you for making this hard day a little bit easier
