We went to this vet from 2018 until 2024. We didn’t have any issues until our Cavapoo got sick in 2024. This vet misdiagnosed him multiple times and we repeatedly took him back to the office because he wasn’t improving and still wasn’t eating or drinking. Then urgent care vet diagnosed an obstruction very late at night and recommended following up with our vet the next morning to see if he passed the object or needed surgery.
Indian land VCA wouldn’t even see our dog that next morning. We called repeatedly. Half of the time when you call they don’t answer the phone. When they finally answered they said they wouldn’t see our dog and wouldn’t let us wait at the office to work our dog in when they had time. Our dog was not eating or drinking and was in pain. The VCA receptionist said that they wouldn’t even do an x ray to see if he was improving because they “only had one vet that morning.” They also said that particular vet did not do foreign object obstruction surgery. I begged them to see our dog and at least give him pain medicine and do the x ray to see if he had passed the object. They refused and insisted we go yo an ER vet.
I will never go back to this office. Palmetto veterinary medicine and surgery in rock hill saw our dog immediately and treated him. We will never go back to Indian land vca.

Been coming to them for years every month, for the same exact treatment and they consistently demand a full exam (MONTHLY) completely over charging us for the SAME problem. They are great at taking your money, but not fixing the problem or recognizing it’s a chronic issue that has been going on for years and sometimes it’s ok to just care about the family in addition to the animal. We won’t be back.
UPDATE: Since I'm unable to respond to the Vet's response - when I called for an appointment I clearly communicated that there would be medicine involved (it's the same visit we do every time) and the tech scheduled our appointment with a tech instead of a doctor. We had a cytology done in July with our vet in Hilton Head that your team declined to let us use. The treatment was not different, it was absolutely the same treatment we've always received - literally for years with your office. Your vet tech even came in and told my husband after the cytology that the bacteria was different, but it was the same treatment...just like every month prior. We were there the last week of May, so the only time we skipped a cytology or vet visit was the month of June. It seems depending on who is working depends on how we are treated. Again, we are there monthly, except June/July because we were out of town. Your team should know us and our dog comes in monthly for ear cleanings, medicine drops in the ear, and librela shots.
