Visited last week for our first visit. We had an awesome appointment for our senior dog and signed up for the monthly care plan. Very excited to have found this vet!

Prior experience was decent tho the vet seemed afraid of my dog. I looked past it because of his size (98lbs) but I’d been more comfortable if they had some one more comfortable and experienced with large breed dogs. She moved like she was nervous and even shared with me that bc she was bitten before which is making her uncomfortable.. this was my 1st experience here. 2nd experience, It was all over the phone. I spoke to a very nice kind and very caring woman over the phone. She was reassuring, she had lots of empathy & she told me after speaking to the vet she’d call me back with details on how they can help my dog. She did exactly that. However, when I got another phone call it was a male named Jason. He had the MOST condescending tone and made me feel very uncomfortable IMMEDIATELY. Idk if it was because my dog had not been seen there for a while or what. It’s no telling why…I asked him questions about tick and flea prevention even though my dog doesn’t have them currently nor has ever had them but nw that I had the funds available I wanted to get him on a 30day regimen..I shared exactly that with him. when he responded he acted like I was speaking in tongues and he didn’t understand that I had already been waiting to hear back & being told that he had to call me back again bc I wanted to also get him on a regimen as such … I chose to be understanding bc at the end of the day it’s not his call to make right off back, I understood that he needed to speak to Dr.Wall. It was around 1pm .. around almost 4pm I didn’t hear back as of yet,so I called back being that I wanted to pay and pick up the medications same day before eob day.. he answered & that’s when I asked for his name. I reminded him of who I was and told him he had said he’d give me a call back. He said oh yea. I told him when I called this morning I made it clear I wanted to get this done today.. he said he didn’t speak with the vet yet and he’ll SEE if he can speak with her and got silent.. I said okay well should I expect a call back today? He says umm yea sure. I said I’d like to pay and pick up TODAY, what time do you close? He says 6. I said okay.. well I’d truly like to know what I need to do..asap please, if he needs to come there to be seen I’d like to set that up or if I can just pick the medications up. I said i know he’s due for a few things but I can only pay for a limited amount of things right now but if you can call me back with what my options are, I’d know better of what I can do. He says yea, sure. I said …. Okay… well, will you be calling me back today? He says umm yea. Lol.. i said okay.. well I never got a call back. It’s just really uncomfortable because Im already stressed at the fact that my dog is automatically stereotyped because of his breed and size even tho he’s nothing but sweet. On top of that, the vet is very expensive but regardless I was ready to pay and take care of everything up to atleast 300.00 & for him to make me feel so unwelcome, it just makes me not want to associate myself or my dog with this vet. I’ll just start over some where else. Jason, you don’t have to work at VCA if you’re going to pick and choose who you’d like to speak to in a welcoming, empathetic tone with. You have nothing to do with the choice I’ve made as a dog owner to have this extra responsibility however, YOU have chosen what career field you’re in. Customer facing, the face and voice of VCA .. be more relatable and caring man & understand that in high stress situations as such, we don’t want this type of experience. Lost a customer today.
