Dr. McCormack Is an absolute GEM! My boxer Rizzo is very anxious when it comes to the vet and being around other dogs. All of the staff are so accommodating and ensure we have the least stressful visit possible, every time. I’ve been to a few other vet clinics in the area, but this is by far my favorite.

UPDATE 12/16/24: my cat is now DEAD because of the lack of care we received at VCA Rock Creek animal hospital. From a grieving pet parent, please take our advice and DO NOT bring your pets to this location. The hospital manager is terribly unprofessional, a bully and does not put the care of animals first.
A Disheartening Experience
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the care provided VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital. Our experience was nothing short of distressing and disappointing.
We visited the vet on 10/30 with our sick cat, hoping for professional care and a timely diagnosis. After enduring four temperature checks, three mouth swabs, and extensive bloodwork, Dr stated that they couldn't SEE any signs of illness except for a high temperature of 104°. Despite conducting a blood test and a PCR test, she did not prescribe any antibiotics, and we were sent home with only an appetite stimulant medication, for which we paid a total of $450 WITH CARE CLUB.
On 10/31, Dr called to inform us that the blood work showed a high white blood cell count. However, they concluded that because she couldn't SEE any visible signs of illness, our cat must be fighting it off on her own and still did not prescribe any medication. Then, on 11/4, they called again to confirm that the PCR results indicated an upper respiratory infection but again, no antibiotics were prescribed.
On 11/7, I called the clinic to report that my cat was vomiting, to which Dr. responded it was an adverse reaction to the appetite stimulant and advised us to discontinue its use. After stopping the medication, my cat's eating improved until 11/15, when she began vomiting again. I left an urgent message with the front desk requesting antibiotics and for the doctor to call me back. It took four hours of waiting before I decided to contact a different VCA for care.
The new vet was appalled by the lack of care we received at Rock Creek. Upon contacting Rock Creek for medical records, they suddenly began processing antibiotics, just one hour before closing time. The lack of adequate care was such a shock to the new VCA that they wrote an email to the Rock Creek medical director about not upholding VCA's care standards.
DO NOT take your pet to VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital. The negligence and lack of timely care from them has put our beloved pet at risk and caused unnecessary stress and anxiety. Seek care elsewhere where your pet's health and well-being will be genuinely prioritized.
* EDIT * after a terribly unprofessional and gaslighting response from their hospital manager, I have removed the name of the new doctor we received care from.
