My wife and I are posting this to warn others about the new doctor here (RHONDA PENA). Overall the experience we had during the pregnancy journey was amazing Dr. Sanchez, Avila, and NP Lisa were fantastic along with all of the nurses we interacted with during and after delivery (Montana, Whitney, Deann, Mary, Sarah, and all the others). Pena however, was incredibly rude and seems not to care at all for her patients. The way she conducts herself and her practice does not reflect the quality of the other employees that work here. During labor she was the doctor on call for the night and she took an hour and a half to arrive at the hospital after being notified she was needed. Additionally, we found out from one of the nurses that after ordering an emergency C section for my wife (Due to 7+ hours of labor), Dr. Sanchez performed the operation after thankfully coming back on shift, because PENA claimed she was uncomfortable doing the procedure herself. After my wife delivered she also falsified medical reports of her interactions with us. We strongly encourage anyone who goes here to avoid working with her and ask for a competent provider like Dr. Sanchez.
To reiterate again, besides the unfortunate delivery experience with DR. PENA the team at JCMH is awesome. We just want to warn people about this specific provider (Who seems to job hop between Dallas, TX and hospitals desperately in need of doctors). Unfortunately, it is obvious why she cannot find employment in quality big city health care fields and is now relying on contracts in small towns that are short staffed.

I don't usually leave reviews on places, but I have had such a horrible experience here that I felt I needed to. I do not recommend this place at all. I have yet to have a good experience here after coming here for 4 months.
All my appointments, it felt like the doctors had no clue what they were doing, failed to answer any questions, and very unorganized. I always left feeling more confused than when I went in.
I am currently in the process of switching to lawton or OKC because this place is ridiculous in how they handle their patients.
Dr Sanchez was running behind on this last appointment because of some surgeries. That is fine with me but because of this, it felt very rushed which I do not like. He failed to communicate with the nurse (he walked in the room as the nurse was trying to update him, which resulted in the nurse getting upset with him.) He asked me 2 simple questions, which he would have known the answer to if he took just a minute to look over my chart. He also refused to look at me. He looked at my boyfriend the entire time, even when I was talking to him. To end the appointment he said, and I quote “ Okay we are done”, and walked out the room leaving us in the room. This was very unprofessional in my opinion. Finally, as I’m walking to do my blood work, I can hear him asking the nurses what blood test he needed to order for me, what they wanted him to do with me, etc. Overall, he seemed as if he could not care less. I get if your behind schedule, but do not make me feel rushed as an appointment.
My final complaint is the communication between the doctors and nurses and the receptionist. First off, I was told off the bat to not come back to JCMH until after my appointment with the specialist. So I purposely did not make one because this is what the doctor told me. Just trying to get my appointment for the specialist, it took them 2 and a half weeks. I also had to call them twice after being told it was only going to take 2-3 business days. The first time I called back after a week, apparently the order for the appointment had gotten lost! Finally after seeing the specialist, JCMH called me back asking why I had not made an appointment yet with them. So I had to explain the whole situation.
This is my first pregnancy, and it is also considered high risk. So I don’t appreciate all the back and forth and unnecessary stress from this clinic. I stayed this long hoping it was a one time deal, but it sadly was not. I honestly feel if I were to keep making my appointments here, I am putting my life and my babies life in danger because they do not pay attention nor care. Reading the other reviews and talking to family and friends who have also been here, it also seems like I am not the only one.

I have had 6 pregnancies, 3 miscarriages, an easy pregnancy, and a severely complicated pregnancy. This pregnancy is my last, not the most complicated, and I have NEVER been treated with this much neglect and lack of compassion. I knew I was high risk to begin this pregnancy, but chose to do the majority of my visits local at JCMH, and my high risk review at OU. As soon as a few slight complications arose, the carelessness with my concerns turned into rude behavior by Dr. Rivera. The time spent with Dr. Sanchez and NP Stout were average and pleasant, but Dr. Rivera is the head of OB and has all final say. 3 weeks of pre-eclampsia symptoms and worsening hemorrhoids were brushed off because my blood pressure was not high and I denied surgery for the hemorrhoids. At my 30 week appointment my blood pressure was elevated, but not extreme. I was sent to labor and delivery for monitoring. My blood pressure was able to come back to normal after laying down. The nurses were great, they checked me and I was a fingertip dilated and not changing after hours of intermittent contractions, and I was negative for preterm labor (fetal fibronectin). Dr. Rivera asked me to stay for 24 hours to do a urine collection. I said if there are no other concerns I would like to do the urine collection at home like I did in early pregnancy and she said that was okay. My urine results were on the patient portal for nearly 24 hours before I received a call. When I called the office with my concerns and asking for notification, Dr. Rivera lied to her nurse saying I flat out denied staying at the hospital the day prior, and that she checked me and I'm fine. She did not check my cervix once, and did not raise any concerns with me wanting to do the urine collection from home. When she finally called, Dr. Rivera repeated that I needed no change in activity levels even though my protein was twice the maximum of the reference range, because my blood pressure was not too high once I laid down. Preventing pre-eclampsia at 30 weeks with the closest NICU being 1.5 hours away seemed stupid to her. Not to mention she never checked the severity of my hemorrhoids, for which I had surgery during my last pregnancy with no pain meds and had the worst experience of my life. Recovery from that surgery took over 6 months of painful bowel movements. Pushing a baby out 3 weeks after surgery with stitches still pulling in such a soft area was not ideal. Not once did she offer another solution except for surgery, which I denied due to my past experience. I also did not want to have surgery when my body was already stressed out. This isn't my first rodeo with these complications and my past doctors took these matters seriously, worked toward prevention with half days at work and bed rest and I still ended up with surgery and being induced at 36 weeks. I am showing worse signs much earlier this pregnancy and have been completely ignored and LIED TO by a "professional." Needless to say, I have switched OBs to someone taking me seriously. My request to fax my records to the new doctor was denied, so I drove my printed copies to the new office in Lawton. The new doctor wanted to see me NEXT DAY due to the seriousness. When my husband asked Dr. Rivera's office for the JCMH patient advocate they denied knowing who that person is. He had to walk over to the pediatric clinic to get the contact info which they said they are required to know. The patient advocate is aware and hopefully ignoring cases with such history and worsening symptoms is resolved soon. However I ABSOLUTELY, do NOT recommend Dr. Rivera or her office.
Lisa was super nice and made my procedure quick and as painless as possible! People at the front desk are always nice too
