- TMThomas McMahonDec 17, 20251.0I went to Russell Cellular to purchase a stand alone Apple Watch, the employee told me the watch was $299 and I would get a $300 off promotion. I purchased the watch and found out through Verizon that there is no such promotion. He didn’t put any promotion on the watch at all. The price of the plan that he quoted was also incorrect. The employee connected the watch to a phone on my plan which is not what was discussed. He also charged me a $40 “Set up for Sucess” fee to hand me the box. I called the store to talk to a manager and was told that a manager isn’t available till next week. I was also told that they wouldn’t refund me the $40 set up fee and I could return the watch but I would be charged a $50 restocking fee. This store sucks and the employees just make stuff up to make a sale. I guess that’s what happens when there is no supervision on site.
