We were out of state visiting relatives when we noticed our dog, Annie, was not feeling well and we still had a week before heading back home. We called NCAS and they got us in asap. Thanks to their great hospitality and medical attention Annie was feeling much better the next day. Thank you NCAH for all your help.

I live on one of the islands and after my mother passed I became caretaker of one of her cats. I brought "Mini" to the island for the last three years because my mother had brought her and she loved it. This year we knew we were facing a diagnosis of kidney failure, but when Mini started to go downhill it was quick and dramatic. She was actively dying. I called the vet my mother had used (1000 Islands Vet.) and I was told that because she had not been in the clinic for a long time she would have to start over as a new patient - and the first appointment was in three weeks. I was appalled by this "policy". They had Mini's records, and my own vet was trying to fax over Mini's updated records.
Thank God another island resident suggested I call VCA. Despite having a completely booked day ahead of them they not only made room for us they were inordinately kind. Mini was clearly already close to death but they wrapped her in a blanket and moved her gently onto the table to give me a chance to say goodbye. I will never forget their kindness and their compassion. Everyone I encountered gave a part of themselves to ease the painful process of letting this beautiful animal go.
I will happily recommend them to any islanders, whether for routine care or in an emergency.

We are highly satisfied with the care our pup received at VCA. The staff and Dr. Phillip Lu are extremely kind, knowledgeable, and patient. Our dog underwent a dental procedure and I was extremely anxious. After picking him up, he was back to his normal self extremely quickly. I am so so relieved he is okay and so grateful the staff took such good care of my baby.
I have taken my rabbit to this vet as well in the past and they were always so gentle with him. I will also mention that, in the 4 years we’ve been here it’s been impossible to have our animals seen anywhere else before we discovered VCA. They almost always have availability within 1-2 weeks, anytime we’ve needed an appointment they are never booked out too far in advance. We highly recommend!

I can’t say enough about the outstanding service and care received when my dog became ill. I was a walk-in and was treated as if I was a long-term, valued client. The front desk staff, vet tech and veterinarian were all extremely professional and highly skilled. The treatment plan was fully explained and the pricing was reasonable. I will be returning to VCA for any future care.
