I strongly recommend avoiding this Verizon store. The service at this store is beyond awful. Yesterday I was on the phone with my 87-year-old uncle (who has been a Verizon customer for many years) as he walked into this store to ask for help. He explained to the staff that I was on the line to explain the issue he was having with his service since he can't explain it himself. I clearly heard the employee refusing to talk to me. Instead of just allowing me to let them know what the problem was, the employee dialed the Verizon customer service number from a store phone (while I was still on the line and could hear everything) and left my uncle on his own to navigate the automated prompts, something he was clearly unable to do. The whole reason he went to the store, walking with a walker on a cold day, was because he cannot navigate the automated customer service system over the phone. It is impossible to reach a human representative without getting through those bot prompts and like many other elderly, he is not able to follow through the steps to get to a live agent over the phone. That is why he goes into the store in person to get help. Anyway, he tried explaining this to the store staff but they continued to refuse help and redialed the number again. I remained on the phone with him and could hear another customer's conversation with the store staff who also sounded extremely upset with their lack of customer service. Unlike my uncle, the other customer was younger and had the words to fight for his case, but because my uncle couldn't and they wouldn't talk to me so that I can advocate for him, my uncle had to leave the store and walk to another Verizon branch to get help from a more decent employee. This was not the first time this store treated him poorly. A few months ago, my uncle went into the same store (which is the closest branch to his home) when his phone suddenly stopped working due to a corrupted SIM card. Instead of keeping his existing number and preserving the contacts stored on his phone, the staff at this store changed his phone number entirely and discarded the old SIM card with all his numbers. As a result, my uncle, who lives alone, lost all his contacts, could not call anyone not even his care taker, and nobody in his family could reach him for weeks. None of us could even imagine that, if there was an issue with his phone, that Verizon would change his phone number and throw out all his contacts. The employees at this branch demonstrate a lack of basic customer service skills and their refusal to properly assist a vulnerable elderly customer is appalling. Their responses have repeatedly shown no empathy or regard for an older person’s needs and struggles. Above all, they put his safety at risk by changing his phone number instead of bothering to go through the steps needed to keep his number the same. They cut him off from all his contacts, causing much anxiety and effort for weeks as we tracked my uncle down and then had to notify all of his doctors, home care services, insurance, etc. etc. just because of thoughtless lazy actions by an employee at this store. I have reported our experience to Verizon and have now moved my uncle’s service to another company, one whose branch staff actually treat vulnerable customers with basic decency.

The employees are disinterested and disrespectful, with their looks and actions, as if they are going to beat you. There was a bearded, overweight man I went to yesterday and he was really bad, I left the store immediately, I was thinking of switching my phone line to Verizon, but I am not thinking about it anymore. The employees definitely need to receive discipline training.

(Date visited : Oct 17, 430pm -7 pm) I took my phone to get replaced, usually a one hour or so task, and it took two and a half hours. Fred Allen spent half the time in the back doing God knows what, multiple times for 10-20 minutes each time; I had to repeat at least six times that my old number was hacked and I’m using the new one, for him to then ask if I wanted to delete the new not-hacked number??; he spent half of his time just scrolling up and down the padlet not actually going to a different screen; told me I had to pay one amount then failed to explain the circumstance with orders and just told me to pay an extra $120??? Before explaining??? Then the manager and other team members took time aside from helping consumers, or getting ready for the close the whole staff was very clearly ready for, to trash talk another employee, not helping at all when I asked where Fred was or if he was on his way back. I *finally* saw the phone I was upgrading to at 650pm bc Fred Allen was just chilling in the back, and when asked if I could start setting the phone or anything with like ten extra minutes after closing, Fred decided to inform me it was 657pm and they close in a few minutes. As if I couldn’t have started setting up while he was sitting in the back for one of the 10-20 minute sessions in the 2.5 hours I was there; like, maybe if you actually helped during the process I wouldn’t be here til closing and having to take my phone BACK to ANOTHER Verizon bc service is wonky. The woman who was there until 7pm had a mean attitude with two people she helped closer to 630pm-7pm. While I understand, it’s close to closing on a Friday but you should still be helping with *some* patience. She then proceeded to refuse to give her name when asked by a customer bc the customer wanted to give feedback to Verizon, full out raising her voice and arguing with the customer bc “she wasn’t comfortable giving her name” if the customer is going to say she’s unhappy with service. She wasn’t helpful and just said the same thing multiple times, no attempt to actually help. I didn’t get her name (obv) but she was the only woman there until 7pm and was insanely rude and unhelpful to anyone she helped. Whole store seemed pretty avoidant to actually being informative and helpful, very willing to be rude or just away from the floor, and repeating product phrases with no ounce of problem solving skills or relative desire to help people.
