Thank you Dr Sophia and staff.
It’s been 2 weeks since my boy, Max, passed away.
From the moment we walked in, the staff treated my dog with dignity, tenderness, and genuine love. They took the time to explain every step, allowed us the space we needed to say goodbye, and supported us with patience and understanding. Their empathy was not just professional—it was deeply human.
I will forever appreciate how they honored my boy’s life.
Todd, the Office Mgr, Nina the receptionist and Vet Technicians, Amanda and Leslie all came in to say goodbye. In a time filled with sadness, they created a peaceful and compassionate environment that meant more than words.
Dr Sophia and staff at VCA Summit Ridge are excellent and truly care for your pet.

I truly believe the professionalism runs downhill.
Would your Miss lie about the cost of shots for a cat and not told about second shots and not told about the prices of the increase of the second shots or the extra fee for the doctor to touch your cat after three weeks touching them before and paying the hundred dollars It’s absurd
So when I call him to complain, why my cat on the first time that I visited had to have three shots and I want her nails clipped and the doctor band handled my cat like I don’t do by grabbing her by the neck to give her shots literally picking her up that way I was so upset that I forgot that they forgot to do her nails, and I didn’t even say anything about how upset I was but I always talked about was getting her nails done while I was there waiting and they just let me walk out without doing that to me. That’s just not caring about one’s pet
So my second round of shots with them, I was astonished by the bill being close to the first bill with only two shots compared to three shots and a chip plus the fact that I had to pay $100 for the examination
I was never told until I was leaving about the second shots that need to be administered three weeks later and I was never told about additional $60 charge for I don’t know what not to mention that one of the shots was 80 bucks and not 40 like I was told all the shots cost 40 bucks
So when I’m calling the manager to give them my displeasure about the whole thing and how I felt it Sadie and I were treated she didn’t like my response and I let her know my feelings about everything and she hung up on me
That is a person that I feel does not deserve to be in a bad position because again it runs downhill so she’s actually training her employees to act the same way. Let’s just hang up on them if we don’t like what they’re saying.
When I had a dog, I had good experiences there. I never had my dog treated like the way that my cat was treated.
Maybe it’s because I work hard in my clothes. I always looking like maybe I’m homeless.
Fact is, I didn’t wanna take my cat to what I call meat market like Petco and be treated inhumanely so I figured I’d pay a little bit more money and go to veterinarian where she would be treated. I don’t know better like I saw my dog being treated.
That wasn’t the case .
And all I said to the manager to cause her to hang up on me, is like you should even charge me for her nails being done that’s pretty traumatizing to take a cat in for the first time she’s stressed out has all kinds of anxiety get your shots we’re leaving and then I remember they didn’t get do your nails, which was the most important thing to me. I had to take her all the way back. She was so stressed out the second time I left. I was like oh my gosh, I couldn’t even get her in the crate to take her on the second appointment . She knew what was up.
I seriously consider using another place in this place myself. I’m not gonna use them again.

Front paw injury to 8 year old, active healthy cat. I was given an estimate by a vet technician before even meeting the vet. JUST for an exam, 1 x-ray, some sedation, and a pain medication. $607!!! Without treatment. I almost fell off my chair. I'm 79, living on social security income of $800/month. We negotiated something more affordable for me which meant a payment plan. My cat had a foxtail and small abscess on his front leg. Treatment took about 20 minutes.
The staff was wonderful, kept me informed and I was treated respectfully.
Besides the astronomical prices that I was given, I would recommend VCA Lakeside.
