I recently brought in my newly adopted dog for her first visit, since VCA partners with The Animal Foundation. Dr. Tack was fantastic, and the vet tech team was incredibly kind and attentive. I truly appreciated the level of care they provided.
The only issue I experienced was regarding a service I had clearly declined. During the financial breakdown, I was told a nail trim would be $37. I declined, planning to have it done at her grooming appointment for far less. The vet tech confirmed this and took my dog back for the treatments she did need. When she was returned to me, her nails had been trimmed anyway. I was told afterward that it was covered by the funds The Animal Foundation provides, which was confusing since I had declined the service from the start.
At checkout, the blonde front desk associate told me I needed to pay the $37 out of pocket. After several back-and-forth checks with the team, I was finally told the cost had actually been deducted from the $250 provided by The Animal Foundation—something I never approved. With my bill ending up around $240, it left me feeling as though the clinic was simply trying to use the full allotted amount. I would have preferred to save those funds in case anything concerning came back from her tests.
The clinical care was wonderful, but I do want to note that the blonde front desk associate’s customer service could use improvement. I recognized her voice from the confirmation call as soon as I walked in, and she was just as sassy in person as she had been on the phone.

They’re great when it comes to routine care for your pets, but don’t expect any level of immediate accommodation if your pets gets injured or has a more urgent need of care. Maybe they’re just too busy for their own good now.

Dr Ritchie, Dr Wiggers, Jen, Kristine, Michelle, Gwen, Melody, Patty and Staff~Our words can’t express our sincere gratitude for your extreme kindness and support extended to Oscar and especially during our heartache. The consistent work ethic and compassion always shown to us over 7+ years was poured over us in an overwhelming manner ~thank you!
Dr Wiggers, thank you for the almost 8yrs of great care, knowledge and kindness with Oscar and the utmost support you gave us especially with Oscar’s terrible allergies. You and your staff are the reason we always referred family, friends, neighbors, coworkers and acquaintances to VCA Blue Animal Hospital. With grateful hearts, thank you again.
Respectfully yours,
