Very unprofessional, need more training and all treats all customers with the same respect not base on ethnicity or race. And lying to customers is never a good way of doing business. I’m not sure is that the verizon culture but willing to try a different store in the area to see.

Absolutely avoid this Victra third party authorized retailer Verizon store at all costs. Particularly, do not select this location for in store pick up when purchasing a new or upgraded phone. I ordered an iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB Deep Blue via a Verizon customer support agent who confirmed for me that this device was in stock at the West Orange Victra location. After a day and a half of waiting for my order to be ready for pick up, I finally just drove to the store to see what the delay was since it was supposed to be ready in 1 hour. The store manager and sales staff informed me that if I wished to receive my phone that day, they would need me to authorize them to cancel my in store pick up order and then they could re process my order locally at the store. One employee essentially explained to me that though they have the device in stock, it was only in stock for in person sales and not in stock for online pickup. Since I didn’t want to have my credit card charged another time for the sales tax and upgrade fee and have another inquiry on my credit report, I declined their offer and asked if I could just pick up my order. The manager refused and explained that she would not fulfill my online order and would allow the order to auto cancel in another three days. She explained that the only way I could get my phone was to purchase it again at their location. To me, it seems like these third party stores allow their inventory systems to show that they have stock, but then never actually fulfill the order. They assume you’ll eventually drive to the store after a day or two of no updates to your order status or after it auto cancels because they never picked and packed your order. Then when you speak with them, they will try to sell you the same device again in person. This is likely because they want to make a higher sales commission from your in person sale compared to the commission they’d get from just fulfilling your pick up order. And I’m sure it looks better on their books because they’ll be able to report to Verizon corporate that they made more in store sales than they otherwise would have. Additionally, since they never complete your order, their online inventory never decreases, making it seem like they still have the device in stock, all while they’re selling the ones they do have in physical stock to walk in customers. Verizon really needs to look into this behavior by their authorized retailers. I’ve been a long time Verizon customer and this is the most disrespectful and disappointing experience I’ve ever had in a Verizon store location. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s had this happen recently here and at other Verizon authorized retailers. I bet if Verizon corporate looked into the volume of unfulfilled, auto cancelled pick up orders at this location, they’d be way higher than they should be. I encourage anyone who’s had a similar experience attempting to pick up an online order at this location, but was told it wasn’t available unless they purchase in store, to contact Verizon customer support and request that an escalated customer service ticket be opened detailing your experience. Otherwise, third party locations like this one in West Orange will simply continue to drive away long standing customers with their poor, unprofessional and frankly shady service.
