Out of all the money my grandmother and I have spent over the past 8 years straight with you guys for phones, i-pads, our monthly bill, ect, and the guy was gonna charge me $40 just to switch my stuff over to my new phone? Not cool. AT&T does it free.

Stay away from this store! I hate being the person to leave a bad review online, but I am disgusted with how my new plan was handled by not only this store, but Verizon as a company. I was a US Cellular customer and wanted to switch carriers to save money. On 12/5, I called the 1-800 number from the Verizon website to ask about new customer promotions. During this 2-hour call, I was told Verizon would buy out my contract by providing a prepaid MasterCard to pay off the devices I’d be trading in, and that I would have 30 days to complete the trade-ins. My bill and upgrade options were also reviewed. I chose to upgrade 3 devices and bring my own on the remaining lines — 6 lines total. I received the devices about a week later and got my stepdaughters’ and nieces’ phones together to set everything up. To avoid mistakes, I called the 1-800 number included in the box and followed the agent’s instructions to start activation. Something went wrong, and I was transferred to a port-in specialist named Judy, then to tech support. After 3½ hours, the phones still weren’t activated. I was told to bring one specific new device, all trade-ins, the IMEIs for the other new devices, and my photo ID to the store. I was told the issue was simply missing QR codes for the eSIMs and that a manager override would fix it. The next morning, I arrived at the Auburn store fully prepared with receipts, my US Cellular bill, transfer PIN email, and a detailed spreadsheet of IMEIs, temporary Verizon numbers, port-in numbers, and trade-ins. I was greeted by a man named Mike, who immediately told me they don’t let “just anyone talk to the manager.” He talked down to me, treated me like I was incompetent, and said the documents I brought were useless. He claimed Verizon does not pay off contracts and that it didn’t matter what tech support told me. The brief interaction I had with the store manager — who refused to give me his name — was no better. They refused to answer questions or listen to concerns, and both Mike and the manager made me feel stupid. All of this stemmed from false information given by Verizon’s sales rep and errors made by Verizon’s port-in and tech support teams — not me. Yet I was treated with extreme disrespect. I feel sorry for the rest of the staff working under management like this. If this is how brand-new customers are treated, I can’t imagine how employees are treated. In the end, I had to return the new devices and switch back to my original carrier. Verizon couldn’t explain what happened or how to fix it. US Cellular later confirmed Verizon could have resolved everything by instructing me to delete the US Cellular eSIM — a simple fix no one bothered to check. Instead, egos got in the way of customer service. After this entire experience — especially my treatment by Mike and the store manager — you couldn’t pay me to do business with Verizon. I strongly advise everyone to STAY AWAY.

I finally decided to order a new phone, but the fear of loosing passwords and the having the nightmare of switching everything over phones was HIGH. Tayrn helped me seamlessly switch over to my new phone without a hitch. She was very knowledgeable about the new plan upgrade. Happy with the store and my service received this month!
