After taking my senior dog to another vet for a couple months now, I wish VCA would have offered more options for my dogs care. Every visit the last year I feel like I’ve been wasting money and time. My dog has always had serious anxiety issues, so exams and even basic check ups are hard. She is uncooperative with so with the vet it was definitely an issue. Nothing was ever done or offered for the visit. They never gave me the option of sedation for exams (had no idea that was even an option). It took me finding a new vet for them to offer a sedation and that same appointment we were able to get her ears cleaned, mouth looked at, X rays and blood work all in one day. VCA has literally just been taking her in giving her basic shots and sending her on her way. The ONLY time my dog was truly examined and looked at was when they had a visitor vet from another vet office. I was disappointed when I came back for a follow up and she wasn’t there. She was great with my dog. If your dog has serious neutrophils issues, or you have a senior that needs care I wouldn’t recommend.
