  Initially had a very good experience today trading in 2 phones on our plan for upgrades. But once we returned to hand in the old phones our sales rep needed to process a credit for the trade, as we waited we watched as our sales rep asked another employee (whom later stated she was the supervisor) for help multiple times and each time we watched as this supervisor berated the sales rep for not knowing how to process the credit. Eventually getting to the point that the supervisor was standing half way across the store with the sales rep still asking her for help, she then very loudly continued to berate the sales rep for not knowing how to do the credit process and expressing that it’s “not her job that she is just the supervisor”. I finally spoke up and asked the supervisor if she would help the sales rep since he has asked several times if only to help complete the transaction for me as the customer. She then turned her unprofessional behavior towards me stating that it is not her job. At this point I stated to her that her unprofessional behavior is very disrespectful to the customers present and very disrespectful to the other employees at the store. At this point another employee came from the back and seemed to gesture for the supervisor to leave it alone. At this point I asked the sales rep if we were good and that we would call Verizon directly for the credit and to report the supervisor’s unprofessional demeanor. I felt so bad for the sales rep, the way he had his head down in embarrassment as if he had been subjected to that type of unprofessional behavior from the supervisor before. If an employee is asking for help from another in order to better serve a customer, that employee should never be treated with such disrespect especially in front of the customer. There are so many beneficial Leadership and Professionalism Courses available that that “supervisor” should sign up for every single one she can enroll to attend. She should make it her mission to do better for not only herself but also for the employees that must work beside her and for the customers that have to endure the toxic environment that she creates.
