  I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Nathaniel Ryan, and I can honestly say it was one of the best salon experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I sat in his chair, Nathaniel made me feel completely comfortable and heard. He took the time to understand exactly what I wanted while also offering professional insight that truly elevated the final look. Nathaniel’s attention to detail is incredible—he’s meticulous, creative, and genuinely passionate about his craft. The cut was flawless, the color beautifully blended, and the styling was perfection. I walked out of the salon feeling more confident than I have in years.

  I have been coming to Trim Nulu since day one! It has been beautiful watching this place grow. They have without a doubt earned being voted Best Salon in Louisville multiple years in a row. The ambiance is relaxing and inviting. The staff is friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. They always lead me to make the best decisions for my hair from color, cut, style, to home care products that keep it maintained at home without them. There is no better salon in the area!

  When my attempt at DIY bangs (cough*midlife crisis*cough) resulted in a horrendous, uneven pseudo-mullet, I had to book an emergency trip to the salon. I’m an out-of-towner & chose TRIM NuLu based on (1) their good reviews & (2) their ability to get me in same-day. I’m SO so thankful I did! My sweet stylist, REAGAN, was so gracious despite the self-inflicted dumpster-fire of a haircut I came in with. She did such an amazing job of gauging my goals, setting expectations, and ultimately salvaging my hair with a cut that I no longer feel the need to hide under a baseball cap (or paper bag.) While the mullet-y layers I inflicted on my poor hair can’t be undone without extensions, she made them look softer, more feminine, and more intentional. It looks better than I would have thought possible, and I still got to keep a lot of my length. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Reagan, you’re a lifesaver!! 🙏

  Based on my experience, I’m trying to understand how this place is so highly rated. I booked a haircut - nothing drastic, but I did take some time gathering examples of the cuts I thought would look best for me. The stylist was so disengaging that I worried I had annoyed her. Instead of discussing haircuts, based on the energy and vibe, I just switched to a quick trim. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more uncomfortable at a salon. I have an engagement tonight and was really looking forward to a new cut - instead I left with a few less split ends. The experience was certainly memorable - but not in a good way.
