On December 6th, we brought our beloved cat, Mia, here for euthanasia, hoping for a gentle end to her long illness. We were promised she would be brought back to us for a peaceful goodbye. Instead, she was kept in the back for over 30 agonizing minutes while we sat in a silent room, helpless and imagining her distress. We got one update at about 10 minutes that her veins were hard to find for catheter placement and heard nothing else until we stood with the door to our room open for information. They then suggested an alternative, reportedly more painful method that would mean we could not be with her at the end. The thought of her passing alone, after all she meant to us, was unthinkable. We declined, our hearts breaking. When Mia was finally returned, the sight of her, bandages on all four of her legs and her tail, will haunt us forever. It was a visceral shock. We had entrusted them with her comfort, and this was the result. We left immediately, cradling her, to find true compassion elsewhere. Our next veterinary choice was heartbroken to see her condition. They gently removed the bandages, revealing swollen, red, and slightly bloodied limbs from what they noted were numerous high, improper attempts. With skilled and steady hands, they were able to insert the catheter after ONE attempt, finally giving Mia the peaceful passing she deserved. This experience did not just add trauma; it betrayed our trust and compounded our grief on the hardest day of our lives. We share this not out of malice, but with a heavy heart, hoping to spare other pet parents this profound anguish in their most vulnerable moment.

She made me the soonest appointment possible to follow up with my vet since it wasn’t as concerning as I thought. Amazing costumer service, attention to detail and great advice on how to best support my baby in this time of need. 10/10 will be recommending to my friends and family. (Note: I learned tonight they offer payment plans! That can be such a life saver in a time of need with an animal. They had 2 different very reasonable options. This wiped away my anxiety’s about helping my fur baby!) VCA ROCKS! 🩷
