Please save yourself the emotional devastation—and spare your dog unnecessary pain—and do not trust this vet if your dog has any lameness or mobility issues.
I trusted this clinic for years. Over the course of more than three years, I brought my dog in repeatedly for the same chronic limp. Appointment after appointment. Exams. X-rays. Medications. Reassurances. And always a substantial bill. Despite ongoing decline, I was repeatedly told it was a hip issue, and explicitly assured it was not a knee problem—even when I asked directly.
That guidance was wrong.
Their negligence and failure to put my dog’s best interest first allowed this issue to go untreated for years. By the time I finally received a correct diagnosis from another veterinary specialist, the damage was far more severe than it ever should have been. The untreated chronic injury led to significant muscle atrophy, loss of stability, and my dog no longer trusting her leg. As a result, her post-surgical recovery has been far more complex and prolonged than normal. It is breaking my heart to see her struggle in prolonged crate rest and breaking the bank every physical therapy session. She now requires ongoing care from a physical therapy specialist simply to undo the damage caused by years of misdiagnosis.
What makes this especially painful is that I did what pet owners are told to do: I trusted the professionals. After over three years of chronic issues, doing what the vets told me to do with no improvement, she declined significantly, and I got a secodn opinion. In a sobering moment, I was 99% confident in identifying the correct diagnosis simply by discussing my dog’s symptoms with ChatGPT. That suspected diagnosis was then later confirmed exactly by a two specialists at other veterinary clinics. Let that sink in - ChatGPT knew better based on simply words... After years of appointments, imaging, prescriptions, and thousands of dollars paid to this vet, an AI—without even physically examining my dog—was closer to the truth than the clinic I trusted with her life and well-being! How does that happen? What exactly was I paying thousands to this vet for?
It is heartbreaking to realize that while I was diligently advocating for my dog, asking questions, and trusting their expertise, they missed something so fundamental and *such a COMMON diagnosis*. The knee was the problem all along. The hip was completely fine.
People trust their veterinarians to guide them, to advocate for their pets, and to act in the animal’s best interest. This clinic did not do that—despite repeatedly saying they were. They allowed a chronic, worsening condition to go on for over three years, and my dog is now paying the price.
To VCA: please do not respond with a generic, scripted customer service reply. You have entirely missed the point. Cost was never the issue—I would have paid anything if my dog had actually been helped. Instead, I received years of incorrect care and zero meaningful progress, while my dog’s condition steadily deteriorated. If you truly cared, you would be reaching out to me. Why should I have to chase you down if this is so important to you?
Don’t make the same mistake I did. Trusting the wrong vet can change your dog’s life forever!

Very attentive and friendly towards the animals, treated everyone the same, all of the employees were very polite.
I only have great things to say about my time there, a friend of the family’s dog had been hit by a car and they didn’t judge in any way, they were only concerned about the wellbeing of the dog.
