Very misleading experience – be careful. I came to this Verizon store simply to buy a new phone sealed in the box and activate it myself at home. I could have done this online for $95 total (tax + $40 activation fee). In the store, the employee processed the purchase and handed me the phone still sealed. The phone was never opened, and I received no setup or assistance of any kind . ( I specifically declined phone setup because I knew it was a paid service, and since I know how to do it myself, I planned to set up the phone at home.) I was told I would not have to pay the $40 activation fee and that instead I only needed to pay $35. I paid $88 total in the store. Two days later, Verizon added the $40 activation fee to my account anyway. As a result, I ended up paying $128 total — far more than the $95 I would have paid online. The $35 “setup” charge is especially frustrating, since no setup was done at all. The phone was never even unboxed. This felt misleading and dishonest. I would strongly advise others to be very careful at this location and double-check everything before agreeing to any charges.

What should have been a simple phone upgrade on my Verizon plan turned into a complete disaster. The upgrade ended up costing nearly triple what I was originally quoted, after over 6 hours on the phone with Verizon support and another 2 hours spent in-store. Despite all that time, nothing was actually resolved and I am now back to square one with my account and now have spent over $900. I was given conflicting information by multiple representatives, both in-store and over the phone. Each time I was told the issue was “fixed,” a new problem appeared instead. Promotions were misapplied, pricing changed without explanation, and no one took ownership of the mistakes. The most frustrating part is the total lack of accountability. I followed Verizon’s instructions exactly, trusted the quotes I was given, and still ended up wasting nearly an entire day with no resolution. For a company this large, the experience is concerning to say the least. If you’re considering upgrading multiple devices or relying on quoted pricing or promotions, document everything and proceed with caution because once something goes wrong, getting help is incredibly difficult.

Very disappointed!!!!! The store manager is a total liar! Took my cash and didn’t give me a receipt. I’ve been with Verizon for over 11 years, paying $300–$400 a month, but after today I’m switching to another provider. I don’t recommend the Shelton location at all! People who lie and don’t understand what they’re doing shouldn’t be doing this job. 10/21/25 He refused to provide me service based on his personal opinion. Not recommended!!!
