VCA PetCare saved my dog's life. By the time I walked in at 4:30 pm with my limp, glassy-eyed baby, his heart pounding in his chest, I was afraid he was already a goner. The tech saw me immediately and took him back for doctor assessment. He was placed in an oxygen tent right away and doc came in to give me the scene... congestive heart failure. I approved IV, xray and labs and was allowed to go back and see him. A few times. I was reluctant to go home without him, because I was afraid he would die. The doctor explained that he needed IV meds for awhile to excrete the fluid aroung his lungs and heart, and the O2 was greatly helping. They would taper him off IV for oral meds toward morning. They were extremely kind and tolerant with me. I went home at 9pm, but woke up and called about 0230 saying I wanted to come get him. They advised against it, and they were right, but I imagined him wondering where Mama was. Bodhi has since seen his regular vet for anuria and had an Rx dose and adjustment, and is making progress. I am extremely grateful to VCA PetCare for saving my Bodhi's life and reacting with immediacy, great technical skills and LOVE. Special thanks to Molly for her crisis management skills in dealing with a determined and an aggressive owner when picking up my dog. THANK YOU FOR SAVING BODHI'S LIFE.

I waited 10.5 hrs for my dog, Buddy, to be seen about an episode he had the night before. After me waiting 4 to 5 hours, they decided to take buddy in the back and put him in a cage. I had to take my other dog Joey home to feed him, but before I did that, they requested the $199 fee up front. VCA said they would call me a immediately when the Vet saw Buddy. They for me to keep my phone with me at all times. I went back to VCAon Medicino Ave. and spent another several hours.Waiting for them to see Buddy. I asked them to take my dog out of the cage and I was going to be leaving. The young man upfront told me to come back at 5 or 6 a.m. ,so I would be guaranteed a spot to be seen. I called at 6:30 am. The young lady who answered the phone said she had just gotten to work and a veterinarian. wouldn't even be there until eight and wanted to know who told me this. At 6:30am they told me I would still have a 4 -6 hrs. wait. I told them (after waiting for 10.5 hrs.) when I took Buddy home.He had two more episodes last night. Are they waiting for him to die???? Can you please tell me what kind of a deal is going on here? Needless to say, I will not be going to them ever! I would like to have the management's information please!

This place is the worst ! You are told three hours than when you ask at five hours they say another hour ! I understand there are more serious problems with other animals, but i still have to pay the same price as everyone else after being bumped off the list over and over again ! Not right !

This place made me feel helpless. I very recently took my two year old cat into their care and they did absolutely nothing for him but waste his time and only check his vitals… doing only this made his situation worse and delayed what could have been a 3-4 day healing process. My cat had urinary issues… all he needed was blood work and a urine analysis the VERY FIRST TIME I took him into their care and they would have found what was wrong which was an infection and treated with antibiotics which thankfully he got as soon as I took him to VCA in Rohnert Park… he has recovered within a 48 hours, they pretty much saved his life there… as cats unfortunately die due to this issue. I felt at VCA petcare east that they borderline didn’t care they would send him home when he clearly wasn’t ok and I was taking him back every other day for the same issue and they did not do anything but check his vitals over and over again telling me they didn’t know what was wrong… imagine how terrible that felt knowing that all my cat had was an infection a UTI and that they basically were waiting until it was far to late. I am a young pet owner I am doing this all by myself for some people their pets are all they have… another issue I had was the care teams and especially the receptionists… no compassion they don’t care about your worries or your questions they treated me as if I were wasting their time taking my sick cat to their care to hopefully get him to feel better… anyways I only go here for food and prescriptions… quite literally wouldn’t take my cat here or let them touch him ever again…

This place is what a vet should be. I accompanied a family member here to address an emergency with her dog and we’d ended up having to put him down. I was blown away by the professionalism, the thoughtfulness, and even just the quality of the facilities. They really go above and beyond to care for their visitors.
