This clinic has gone downhill over several years. They have poor communication and try to up-sell a lot. I took my cat in about a year ago and was told she should get a vaccine. I agreed. As I was checking out, they told me it was a series of 3 vaccines, which I wouldn't have agreed to if I had known it was 3. I had a trip planned, so coming back for the 2nd shot during the required timeframe was a huge hassle. Last time I was there, they finished everything, but didn't tell me. I sat in the exam room for about 20 minutes before I finally asked if I could get my bill and leave. Today, I went in for a vaccine and wasn't informed that the $116 exam was required until after the vet did the exam. When I was going into the exam room, the tech looked at the papers and said I was here for an exam and a vaccine. I said it's just a vaccine. That would have been a good time to mention the fact that the exam was mandatory, not after it was done. Also, the vaccine prices are outrageous. I will not be back.

This place has issues with staffing and scheduling. They decided after my dogs appointment time already had passed while my mom is already in the waiting room that they needed to reschedule her for another day. We drive an hour to take her there since has been going there her since she was a puppy. Waste of time and a frustrating experience. If you can’t keep your appointments scheduled you should call your clients and let them know before they drive there.

Taking my kitten here was the worst mistake I’ve ever made. I trusted Dr. Sergienko to provide proper care and instead she severely misdiagnosed my kitten with a “common kitten illness” Because of her negligence my baby ended up in the emergency clinic where he sadly passed away. When I tried to hold Dr. Sergienko accountable she refused to take responsibility and even tried to blame her receptionist for giving me the wrong diagnosis. From the beginning I should’ve realized this place was a red flag especially when a vet assistant didn’t even know how to take my kitten’s temperature. My poor kitten Kylo was overlooked and completely neglected here. Please if you truly care about your pet’s wellbeing stay far away from this place. Dr. Paulina Sergienko you were supposed to have my kittens best interest as a veterinarian. You failed to do that and left me and my family in emotional distress. I hope in the future you actually pay attention and put people’s pet first.

As I write this review, I’m warning anyone considering taking their pet to Dr. Sergeinko here at the VCA Animal Care Clinic. My cat was severely misdiagnosed multiple times, with Dr. Serginko dismissing his symptoms as "common" issues and even blaming her receptionist for the errors on a voicemail we received. After spending over $800 on incorrect treatments and wasted visits, I took my cat to another emergency hospital in Martinez, where I was told his condition had progressed too far due to problems that should have been caught weeks ago. Now, my cat is suffering, and it’s too late to save him all because of negligence and incompetence at this practice. If you care about your pet’s health, go to a clinic with experienced, attentive doctors who will actually prioritize your animal’s well being. This place failed us in every way possible especially the “best” doctor at that spot. Do not make the same mistake I did. Avoid Dr. Sergeinko at all costs. Go to Martínez instead. Update : Your response is not only inaccurate but dismissive, and I won’t allow you to rewrite what happened. For clarity, there were multiple visits, not just one. I strongly suggest you check your system before making misleading statements. I came back for bloodwork, paid for it, and also dropped off a stool sample all of which you apparently failed to account for. The fact remains, another veterinarian confirmed this issue should have been caught weeks earlier. The only treatment declined was an X-ray. Everything else recommended by your team including the food. To twist this into me declining care is dishonest and insulting. You failed to catch what could have saved my cat’s life, and instead of owning up to that, you hide behind a generic, copy-paste response. That is unacceptable, and it’s exactly why I will never trust VCA again.
