First of all, I love my vet. That accounts for most of the stars. The staff over all are very nice as well. But the place is always chaotic and everyone seems rushed. So pretty much nothing is going to go smoothly on any random visit.
I took one of my dogs in for her dental. When I got there I filled out forms where they asked me at what number i would be available on that day and I wrote my number. Then when I handed them the paperwork they asked again. They had the wrong number so I told them the correct one. That's twice that I told them.
At 3:00 I had heard nothing so I called to see how my dog was doing! The (very nice) receptionist put me on hold and then came back on and said she was fine, and that someone would call me around 4:00. No one called.
At 4:15 I called again and reminded them that I live over 30 minutes away and I know they close at 5 and that I still had heard nothing from the vet or the tech. They added warmly that "Ruby was all ready to cash out." Okay, then. While I was on the phone with them I got a call FROM them so I switched to that call. The tech said they had been trying to reach me and that they close in 45 minutes! (They had been calling the wrong number even though I had told them the correct number -- twice.)
Then when I went to "cash out" Ruby, I asked to see the breakdown of the charges. (The add on charges were over $1000.) The receptionist said they couldn't do that until I paid. He seemed a little annoyed. Really? (That got more or less worked out.) These kinds of things happen every time I go there!
The second to last time I was there, I was literally there over two hours. I had to wait 20 minutes in line just to check in! Then I had to wait another 30 minutes for the appointment, which lasted about 20-30 minutes. Then I had to wait in the exam room for medication for over 30 minutes. Then it took 10 minutes of standing in line to check out. Much worse than doctor's appointment for humans!
To be clear, this is not the fault of the vets or the staff. it is either the fault of VCA or the practice owner or the practice manager. But it really should be addressed

Ruger and I had our first visit to the vet today, he’s very unsocialized, it was challenging to say the least. Dr Lawson and Luna are AMAZING!! I can’t say enough good things about these people, it wasn’t super expensive either. If your fur baby isn’t feeling well I highly recommend this place! Once again, thank you Luna and Dr Lawson.

They would have gotten a one star but the Vet was not the problem and was actually helpful. The issue is with the administration. They charge what ever they want. I told them I had a credit on the account which they didn’t apply to my balance. Fortunately for them I ended up needing unexpected additional services. They were supposed to charge 50% and charged me 100% and then tried to tell me they didn’t. Like be so for real I have the receipt in front of me. Then they had the audacity to look at me like it’s my fault or that I need to find a resolution to it. Not a single brain cell behind that reception desk. On top of all that I was told my pet needed a tooth removal. I was told I would be getting an estimate of that cost with in the next day or two from when I was there….. over a week later still don’t have it.I have called and been put on hold for long periods of time and was put to there voicemail. Called back twice and it went straight to voicemail both times. Apparently the estimates person had called out. It is not my problem that she called out. My pets health is paused because of her. That should not be the case. She should not be the only one doing that job. Cross train someone for instances such as this. At this point because of all there mishaps and rude behavior I will be establishing care at another office. That was by far the worst experience I have had in a vet office.

Do not go to VCA clinics they do not care about your animal they care about your money. In September of 2022 I went here to get my dogs leg checked because he had a lump that was bleeding and was worrying colors. They told me that my dog needed a lump biopsy and that the results came back that it wasn't cancer. I went to a different clinic 2 months later because he was getting worse. They did a biopsy on the same lump and I found out that he had an extremely aggressive form of cancer and if i had waited any longer he would’ve been past saving. Please find somewhere else to go unless you absolutely have to go here.
