VCA always takes care of our sweet pug. Dr. Carla Bernal is absolutely amazing and has been our vet of choice for over a decade. She’s great with reptiles too and is the reason we got many more healthy years with our beloved leopard gecko. Not everyone was willing to work with a tiny gecko with eye issues but she was up for the challenge and our little one kept his sight. Great people.

Please - Take your pet somewhere else. The staff were very kind- but it’s obvious their job requires them to put profits over pets. I brought my pup in knowing something serious was wrong, but I wasn’t taken seriously- they spent less than 10 minutes addressing the issue I came in for and 20 or 30 minutes trying to sell me unrelated elective surgical procedures and an insurance plan. I repeatedly brought the conversation back to the concerns I had only to again be recommended unrelated elective surgery. I made the mistake of trusting the vet initially and it took me several days to seek a vet that might take me more seriously (who immediately suggested testing and imaging)- but by then it was too late. The minor internal bleeding my pup had went too long and she was no longer a candidate for surgery. I’ll never know for sure, but I can’t help but think she’d still be with me if I hadn’t gone somewhere that was more interested in upselling profit margins than listening to me about my pup. If I had followed their recommendations I would have spent 8-10k out of pocket and still wouldn’t have addressed the problem that killed her. Please- take your pet somewhere else.

I had first brought my kitty as a second opinion for a sudden diagnosis of Diabetes. She was not in the best of health which I was committed to finding a vet that would prioritize her well being. It was such a horrible feeling that I could not find a vet that not only showed their care but who were able to explain this new diagnosis and the upcoming care. I was scheduled to meet with Dr. Moore. She not only showed empathy, sympathy, kindness but knowledge to a foreign chapter my Luciipurrr would have to endure. My kitty was very sick, and Dr. Moore made such an impactful connection with my kitty, she gave me an extra seven months to be with my Luciipurr before her aggressive diabetes won. I am forever grateful not only for Dr. Moore, but the entire staff at this location. Everyone has been patient, kind, loving and gave my kitty the best care. Recently I found a kitten on the side of the highway and brought her in to see Dr. Moore. After the wonderful care from the team and Dr. Moore that was provided for my Luciipurrr, I am comfortable and thrilled to have such a great team grow and care for my little Mina. This team is wonderful and cannot praise their dedication enough.

Best place in San Diego! We drive all the way up from North Park to have our Dogs taken care of here. The staff is beyond caring and professional. The place is always very clean and it's open 24 hours for emergencies. They always recommend what is the BEST for the care of the animals and let you decide what works best for you and your budget.
