Please - Take your pet somewhere else. The staff were very kind- but it’s obvious their job requires them to put profits over pets.
I brought my pup in knowing something serious was wrong, but I wasn’t taken seriously- they spent less than 10 minutes addressing the issue I came in for and 20 or 30 minutes trying to sell me unrelated elective surgical procedures and an insurance plan. I repeatedly brought the conversation back to the concerns I had only to again be recommended unrelated elective surgery.
I made the mistake of trusting the vet initially and it took me several days to seek a vet that might take me more seriously (who immediately suggested testing and imaging)- but by then it was too late. The minor internal bleeding my pup had went too long and she was no longer a candidate for surgery.
I’ll never know for sure, but I can’t help but think she’d still be with me if I hadn’t gone somewhere that was more interested in upselling profit margins than listening to me about my pup. If I had followed their recommendations I would have spent 8-10k out of pocket and still wouldn’t have addressed the problem that killed her.
Please- take your pet somewhere else.

I had first brought my kitty as a second opinion for a sudden diagnosis of Diabetes. She was not in the best of health which I was committed to finding a vet that would prioritize her well being. It was such a horrible feeling that I could not find a vet that not only showed their care but who were able to explain this new diagnosis and the upcoming care.
I was scheduled to meet with Dr. Moore.
She not only showed empathy, sympathy, kindness but knowledge to a foreign chapter my Luciipurrr would have to endure. My kitty was very sick, and Dr. Moore made such an impactful connection with my kitty, she gave me an extra seven months to be with my Luciipurr before her aggressive diabetes won. I am forever grateful not only for Dr. Moore, but the entire staff at this location. Everyone has been patient, kind, loving and gave my kitty the best care. Recently I found a kitten on the side of the highway and brought her in to see Dr. Moore. After the wonderful care from the team and Dr. Moore that was provided for my Luciipurrr, I am comfortable and thrilled to have such a great team grow and care for my little Mina. This team is wonderful and cannot praise their dedication enough.

Dr. Moore is amazing and this is by far the best we’ve had! Dr. Moore goes above and beyond to make sure your dog has the best care. She is very knowledgeable, very thorough, takes time to get to know your dog, and remembers everything about them. Our dog is very shy and very stressed at any vet, but he warmed right up to Dr. Moore on our first visit and is really comfortable with her.
Two weeks ago we had two emergency room visits at the San Marcos emergency vet hospital, leading to a surgery this week. It was an extremely stressful time but Dr. Moore stayed in constant contact with us via text, fit our dog in for a follow up on short notice, and stayed in contact with the emergency vet to share records. I didn’t have to lift a finger getting records sent back and forth between Dr. Moore and the emergency vet, which made everything so much smoother (and I didn’t have to repeat anything to either vet).
I cannot recommend Dr. Moore and VCA Mission enough. I would give them more than five stars if I could! Your dog will be in great hands with them!

This has taken me a while to write but I will never ever ever trust the vet staff with the care of my animals again. Back in October of 2019, I brought my not even 2 year old German shepherd in to get checked because he was acting weird. Upon arrival, you could tell something wasn’t right. The vet staff SEDATED my dog FOR NO REASON which in turn caused him to go into cardiac arrest. That day, I lost my best friend because of the negligence of the vet staff. When I was leaving the vet was the only one to offer a sincere apology, the women working the desk had no problem being short and slapping me with a 1k bill. Seriously people, if you value your animals life and want the best care, PLEASE take them to Surfside (another 24hour animal hospital).
