DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!! I brought my kittens 3 months ago and it turns out they falsely submitted medical history on one kitten because they mixed it up with the other and documented it on both of them. I had no idea about them incorrectly labeling them until my insurance company denied the claim saying that she had a prior health condition. Even though the doctor told us she was healthy and didn't have a URI. Only concern that was noted was underweight. Emily, the manager was extremely rude, would keep talking over me and wouldn't let me finish talking. She HUNG UP and said she would not fix their mistakes. I'm extremely disappointed in how they aren't taking accountability and how rude and dismissive the interactions were with the whole situation.

In October 2019 I brought my collie to this animal hospital to have her teeth cleaned and a few small benign masses removed. To this day more than 5 years later, even after she has now passed, I deeply regret that decision. I had previously asked for a small mass on one of her nipples on her stomach to be removed (I was overly anxious and this was taken advantage of to make more money). I was assured during that appointment that it would just be the mass removed and not her entire nipple. After the procedure, I noticed that blood was dripping from her stomach onto the floor. I looked and saw that her entire nipple had been removed. I was sick with regret and the horrible realization that I had made a big mistake. I was younger then and did not know better or how to advocate for myself, although I knew that I and my collie had been done wrong. Those who were employed here in 2019 (I do not know if they still work here) should be ashamed. The whole ordeal caused a lot of trauma. To this day I find it utterly unbelievable that the vet did not suggest it being an unnecessary procedure and advise against it, or provide any communication that they would remove the entire nipple despite my being assured beforehand that this would not be the case. My collie lived the rest of her life with one missing nipple on her stomach for no good reason thanks to my naivety and the wrongdoing of this place. I do not recommend going here.

My niece recommended I take my cat to VCA because of her positive experience with the VCA clinic near her. I took my cat to VCA Los Gatos because his eye had become swollen and discharge coming from it. The vet, Dr. Peterson diagnosed him having Feline Chlamydia and gave me a topical eye gel for him. Within a couple of days, he was sneezing and discharge from his nose. I spoke to my niece, her husband is a vet and was told get him antibiotics ASAP. Over the weekend, my cat got worse and I called and first spoke to a nurse, I can't remember her name, who was beyond rude, smirked and said "he'd just have to come back in". I called again and spoke to one of the receptionists who was very kind, and she tried everything she could to see about getting him antibiotics. She let me know there wasn't a doctor on that could provide him medicine, that I'd have to wait until Monday. (She also told me she would have Emily contact me immediately. Side note, I lost my wallet, someone (or ones) tried to use my cards which lead to canceling cards and getting new ones. This left me with a balance with VCA for my other cats) Emily was supposed to call me Monday, I didn't hear from her until Wednesday. She defended the doctors course of treatment. I informed her I took my cat to another vet, actually two vets came and checked on him and told her the vets informed me normal course of treatment for Feline Chlamydia is an eye topical and antibiotics for a month and that I shouldve been told to keep my cat away from the other cats as it's highly contagious. As I'm telling her this, she attempts to interrupt me saying the other vets are wrong. I said to her I came to VCA because the vets are supposed to know more than the customer, that I trusted Dr. Peterson to tell me everything that the other vets did and she failed. She continued to attempt to talk over me while I was still speaking and then had the audacity to accuse me of yelling and threatening to hang up on me. These are not people that care about pets. Emily does not care about my or any pets that come to VCA, she cares about the bottom line. The same I fear for Dr. Peterson who shouldve told me everything about her diagnosis for my cat, what I shouldve been looking out for, that I shouldve kept my cats apart and didn't. She wasn't interested in treating the source, she treated the symptoms so I'd come back and pay more. This is a horrible thing to do to a pet owner. If you care about your pets, avoid this place. They only care about their bottom line. IN RESPONSE TO REACHING OUT TO REVIEWS.VCA, I have reached out to Patty Wu President of VCA and Dr. Marie Kerl Chief Medical Officer for VCA. I urge everyone that has run into such horrific treatment to do the same.
