We have been going to VCA LG for over 10 years and have had mostly good experiences which is why we’ve continued our dogs care here. However this past week we experienced exceptional care with Dr. Peterson and the front desk staff. Our dog Molly was bitten by another dog and we were unsure of the extent of it. VCA was able to get Molly in emergently and Dr. Peterson took her right to surgery to clean and close her wound before infection set in. Dr. Peterson then waited at the end of the day to give us the full report in person, we knew Molly was in great hands and she’s healing beautifully thanks to the great care she received! This care could have gone in many different directions including waiting in a vet ER for hours and missing the window to treat her but VCA LG and Dr. Peterson got our girl treated well!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!! I brought my kittens 3 months ago and it turns out they falsely submitted medical history on one kitten because they mixed it up with the other and documented it on both of them. I had no idea about them incorrectly labeling them until my insurance company denied the claim saying that she had a prior health condition. Even though the doctor told us she was healthy and didn't have a URI. Only concern that was noted was underweight. Emily, the manager was extremely rude, would keep talking over me and wouldn't let me finish talking. She HUNG UP and said she would not fix their mistakes. I'm extremely disappointed in how they aren't taking accountability and how rude and dismissive the interactions were with the whole situation.

In October 2019 I brought my collie to this animal hospital to have her teeth cleaned and a few small benign masses removed. To this day more than 5 years later, even after she has now passed, I deeply regret that decision. I had previously asked for a small mass on one of her nipples on her stomach to be removed (I was overly anxious and this was taken advantage of to make more money). I was assured during that appointment that it would just be the mass removed and not her entire nipple. After the procedure, I noticed that blood was dripping from her stomach onto the floor. I looked and saw that her entire nipple had been removed. I was sick with regret and the horrible realization that I had made a big mistake. I was younger then and did not know better or how to advocate for myself, although I knew that I and my collie had been done wrong. Those who were employed here in 2019 (I do not know if they still work here) should be ashamed. The whole ordeal caused a lot of trauma. To this day I find it utterly unbelievable that the vet did not suggest it being an unnecessary procedure and advise against it, or provide any communication that they would remove the entire nipple despite my being assured beforehand that this would not be the case. My collie lived the rest of her life with one missing nipple on her stomach for no good reason thanks to my naivety and the wrongdoing of this place. I do not recommend going here.
