- JSJayan SinghAug 16, 20251.0I went to this store to take advantage of the $800 trade-in. They said I could keep my old phone for 30 days to make sure everything was working on the new phone. They did NOT say it was a strict 30 days. The guy was very casual about it. I am all about personal responsibility but I had just started a new job and was working 6 days a week. I missed the 30 day mark and brought it back on day 50. They said oh that’s too late and I won’t get the $800. They seemed to care little about the fact that I was losing the $800. At the very least show some empathy. I pushed back on them and the guy said he would write a note to Verizon saying that I was out of the country and that’s why I missed the 30 days. He said he highly doubted it would work but that was the most he could do. So I turned in my phone and waited. And of course they never called to tell me if it worked. It didn’t because I never got the trade-in applied to my bill. So they took my phone and gave me nothing for it and didn’t even offer to give me my phone back so I could at least sell it myself. So a few months later I complain directly to Verizon and they agreed to give me the trade in. You would think the local stores would especially be trying to build loyalty especially from locals (which I am). But not even close. I get Verizon to give me the trade in but store could not??? This was just a case of lazy sales people who already made the sale and just didn’t care that I didn’t get the trade in. I’ll try a different Verizon store next time . Will never step foot in this one.
