To the incredible team at VCA West Coast, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for the compassion and care you showed on October 23rd, when I had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to my Frenchie, Kash. It was one of the hardest moments of my life, and even though there was nothing more that could be done medically, you treated both of us with a level of kindness that I will never forget. From the moment we arrived, your staff made Kash comfortable and treated him with genuine love and respect. You offered me a private room to spend our last moments together, and even brought in a social worker to help me navigate something I never imagined I’d have to face. Those small gestures made an impossible situation feel just a little more bearable, and they meant more to me than I can express. What truly touched me were the two sympathy cards I received afterward — especially the one with Kash’s paw and nose prints. That keepsake is something I will cherish forever. It showed how much you cared, not just as medical professionals, but as human beings. Thank you for being gentle, patient, supportive, and compassionate during one of the most painful experiences of my life. You helped me give my best friend the peaceful goodbye he deserved, and I will always be grateful.

I don't know if you've ever dealt with a medical professional that was so informative and helpful upfront. The entire staff working evening of October 30th truly genuinely cared about our pup and took time to answer all of my many many questions and help me figure out what I wanted to do. They are indeed more expensive than other places, but there was no doubt in my mind that the people taking care of my dog were thinking last about money and just genuinely wanted my pup to feel better.

My senior cat was struggling to breathe and I brought her here to get help, knowing that it was most likely end of life. The veterinarian sat with me and explained her situation with so much kindness and respect. I had to make the decision to put her to sleep. I have to say that I really couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, thoughtful experience than the one the entire staff gave us. Everyone that I came into contact with knew how to show empathy and compassion. They understood how hard it was to let go of someone I loved so much. For this, I am so incredibly grateful.

Although I lost my sweet Marley, I was surrounded by loving care, concern and sympathy from everyone at this facility during one of my most difficult times.

Our very senior puppy developed serious symptoms while we were on the road. We took her to VCA for diagnosis. The entire staff and our doctor were attentive, caring and efficient. Our doctor ordered a series of tests including ultrasound, all done on the premises, with results delivered rapidly. They revealed a large liver mass which was incurable. VCA handled her passing in a very compassionate and professional manner. I highly recommend this hospital.
