This review is specifically about the store manager, Ricardo.
Over the last week, I visited this Verizon store three different times after switching my service from T-Mobile to Verizon.
Visit 1: Sunday, January 4
On my first visit, the sales representative was excellent. He was professional, helpful, and handled the service switch efficiently. That experience was the only reason I felt comfortable returning to the store to complete the remaining steps.
Visit 2: Tuesday, January 6
The store was busier than the first visit, and that was not an issue. I had no problem waiting, and I was being patient. However, I noticed that while multiple customers were waiting, the manager, Ricardo, appeared to be doing very little to support the team or help move the line along.
Even when there were no new customers arriving, he stood around scrolling on his iPad, acting more like a “check-in person” even though the store already has a kiosk for that. From what I observed, he was not assisting staff, not helping customers, and not showing any urgency or leadership.
After about 30 minutes, Ricardo finally approached me, but his attitude made it very clear he was bothered that he had to engage. I explained I was there to get a phone activated. He listened for only a few seconds before quickly dismissing me and telling me he could not help and that I needed to call Verizon. This was incorrect, and it felt like he simply did not want to do the work.
When I pushed back and repeated what he had said, he sarcastically responded, “You should work here.”
After that, I stayed in the store waiting to be helped, and I observed that his interactions with other customers were similarly unpleasant. Based on his tone and body language, it was obvious customers were uncomfortable and irritated after speaking with him. I left that day without getting helped, and I regretted ever coming into the store.
Visit 3: Saturday, January 10
Four days later, my wife went in to return phones and ask a few questions. Unfortunately, Ricardo was the one who helped her. Again, he was unprofessional, dismissive, and condescending.
My wife repeated information she had received from Verizon customer support online, and it was correct. Ricardo made her feel small by repeatedly telling her she was wrong and speaking to her in a tone that is completely unacceptable for anyone representing a store or brand, especially a manager.
Ricardo’s lack of professionalism, poor work ethic, and disrespectful communication have guaranteed that I will never return to this location. In fact, I am already looking into switching back as soon as possible.
I strongly recommend going to a different Verizon store. Do not waste your time at this location
