  I am extremely happy with Mitch Moreland and how he has helped our family. I have hired him twice now and would absolutely do so again. Mitch is responsive, knowledgeable, realistic and will advocate for you and your kids. He is great with negotiations and during trial. Thank you Mitch for all you've done for us.

  Review of Mitchell Moreland – Unethical, Dismissive, and Part of the Problem I consulted Mitchell Moreland regarding serious ethical violations and potential malpractice by my former attorney. Instead of receiving legitimate legal advice, I was met with dismissiveness, unprofessionalism, and shocking admissions about how lawyers protect each other from accountability. Major Issues with His Conduct: Dismissed Clear Evidence of Misconduct Despite providing emails and documentation proving unethical behavior by my prior lawyer, Moreland brushed it off as "normal" and claimed nothing was wrong. He admitted lawyers cover for each other, saying, "Your evidence doesn’t matter" Discouraged Reporting to Disciplinary Counsel He lied about the disciplinary process, claiming: *"They’ll only look at 1-3 things and ignore the rest."* His attitude was, "Don’t bother, nothing will happen." Laughed at Serious Ethical Violations When shown proof that my former attorney admitted judicial bias against immigrants in writing, Moreland laughed, as if amused by the carelessness of leaving evidence. His reaction suggested this is just a game among lawyers—who can exploit clients without getting caught. Admitted to Manipulating the System He boasted, "We do this all the time—we know how to avoid consequences." He even pressures clients to waive their rights, confirming a pattern of misconduct. Hypocritical Given His Own Disciplinary Record After the consultation, I discovered Moreland has been disciplined multiple times—explaining why he downplays ethics violations. His advice wasn’t legal guidance—it was damage control for his profession’s corruption. Final Verdict: Complicit, Unethical, and Untrustworthy Mitchell Moreland is not a lawyer you can trust if you’ve been wronged by another attorney. He protects his peers over clients, mocks serious ethical breaches, and actively discourages accountability. If you want real justice, avoid him at all costs—he’s part of the problem.   An A+ attorney. I ultimately chose Chris Heckert as my attorney because of a referral from another divorce attorney. He had worked with Chris on a case and was extremely impressed with his work. After just a short time of getting to know Chris' approach to domestic law as it pertained to my case, I was sold. Although he represented me as the Plaintiff, his work as a Guardian Ad Litem was invaluable and provided great insight. Not only did Chris provide sound advice on the many facets of my case, he provided it in a timely and extremely professional manner. He was there when I needed him the most. Another positive with Chris Heckert is his reputation amongst other attorneys, magistrates, and judges. Although most of the work is done behind the scenes and out of the courtroom, it was apparent he had the respect of everyone involved. Having someone you can trust and others trust as well goes a long way in trying to get things accomplished. Finally, Chris Heckert is a father himself and was able to relate to what I was going through on both a personal and professional level. I would highly recommend Chris Heckert.

  One word comes to mind when I think about my experience and relationship with Chris and Heckert Law. That word is Professionalism. From start to finish during my divorce case and custody negotiations, Chris and Jennifer treated me and my case as if it was the only one they had. Chris heard my concerns and addressed each one of them with attention and prompt follow up. I would highly recommend Heckert Law for any Domestic Law needs or Child Custody issues.
