Brandon McLaughlin’s assistant displayed unprofessionalism and overstepped boundaries by dispensing legal advice—a role that should legally and ethically be reserved for an attorney. When I pointed this out, it clearly upset her, leading to Brandon himself joining the conversation. Rather than addressing the issue at hand, Brandon chose to focus on how I had spoken to his assistant and informed me that he would no longer work with me. The irony here is striking: instead of acknowledging the inappropriate and potentially unlawful behavior of his staff, he shifted blame to me for pointing it out. This interaction highlights a concerning lack of professionalism and adherence to ethical standards. Allowing non-attorney staff to provide legal advice not only undermines client trust but also raises serious questions about the firm’s practices. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this firm. If you value professionalism, transparency, and respect, I suggest looking elsewhere.
