  So thankful Lisa was recommended to me for a contentious divorce. Lisa was there every moment of the way, and when things went very dark she was right there for me during a Christmas holiday of all times, pulling out all the stops for me.   Lisa Johnson SAVED me... She is truly the best divorce attorney in Lexington, Kentucky. For the first time I felt someone actually heard what I had to say. In my first meeting with Lisa I started crying because I was so thankful to have someone, at last who actually “heard” me and was willing to stand up for me and more importantly stand beside me. Lisa never lost sight of the importance of maintaining a “family” atmosphere for our daughters, the most important part of the equation. Lisa Johnson is truly a Super Lawyer. When you work with Lisa you will be A) Prepared B) Informed C) Strong. Lisa was the lifeline I needed to get through this hot mess of a divorce. Lisa was aggressive getting documents and staying focused on time. That really helped me get through the painful and emotional process in a way that built my confidence, helped me to understand what information I had, what I needed to do. She made what seemed like a complex divorce to me very understandable. Lisa specializes in high asset divorce but unfortunately my ex had spent all of our assets and there was little left to work out but Lisa was able to secure a good settlement for me. My previous attorney botched my case entirely. I had spent over a year with another attorney that everyone said I was "lucky to have" and got nothing. After spending $10,000 and over a year of my life gone I still had no discovery from opposing council despite my multiple requests. Lisa did more for me in one week than my first attorney had done in over a year. A good friend convinced me to meet with Lisa and get a second opinion on my case. The difference in the way Lisa handled this case compared to how my previous council was handling my case was night and day. I found the expertise in child support, maintenance and custody that was completely lacking from my first attorney who was also a divorce and family lawyer. Lisa prepared me, gave me a list of things to do and helped me get organized. My first mediation experience with my previous council was so traumatizing I didn't want to go through it again. Lisa was different. Lisa bolstered me and had prepared me so well that I went in to mediation calm, confident and unflappable. Lisa communicated with me in a timely manner and was highly responsive to my emails. By the time we went to mediation I had made all my decisions, in a very well thought out manner. I had all my documentation to address anything that OC might try to throw at us, and being completely prepared made me completely relaxed. During mediation Lisa never allowed opposing council to address me directly (thankfully because OC lacked some basic boundaries of courtesy). Lisa ferociously protected me from opposing council’s attempts to discuss things that were quite frankly inappropriate. My previous attorney allowed me to get bullied by my ex-husband and his council. I had already been stressed out and had so many financial obligations that I didn’t have much left inside of me. Lisa is tough, and has professional integrity. Her game is very tight. She’s not a hack and doesn’t need to lie or play dirty. If the opposing council tries to go that route, Lisa will shut it down. Facts are facts and Lisa will make sure you have all the facts. Lisa followed up every phone call with written communication so I had a written reference to what we had discussed. Not only was Lisa outstanding Jennie in her office is a true godsend. Jennie Is an amazing person who knows where everything is and every detail of your case. Jennie is always happy to help you when you have a question. Sometimes it’s just a smile and her kind demeanor that makes you feel comforted in a stressful time. When all was done Lisa and Jennie provided me with a CD of all the discovery and documents with details of our case. Everything was all wrapped up organized and all nice and tidy! I couldn’t have gotten through my divorce without her.
