  I called this firm hoping to schedule a consultation regarding my late father’s estate. The will was never probated after his passing in 2018, and I also have concerns about the validity of a deed and a set of wills signed shortly before he was declared incompetent. Instead of helping me schedule a consultation with an attorney, I was connected with someone who “handles intakes,” but she immediately began speaking as if she were the attorney. Before I could even finish explaining, she interrupted to tell me that the “statute of limitations had passed” and that I “should have looked into this sooner.” She also told me the case would “probably cost $50,000,” that the firm only takes cases they think a court would overturn, and that pursuing this would be “like a full-time job.” I appreciate transparency, but it didn’t feel like she fully understood my situation before delivering those conclusions. She then began talking about an unrelated case involving one sibling murdering another — completely unnecessary and unsettling. Finally, she asked what the property was worth and said something along the lines of, “Well, after you spend $50,000 in fees, that leaves about $40,000. I’m sorry your feelings are hurt, but maybe something better will come along that’s worth more than the $40,000.” This was my childhood home. It was never about the money. I reached out for help and left the call feeling dismissed, unheard, and talked down to. I cannot speak to the quality of the attorneys here, but I can say the intake experience alone was enough to send me looking elsewhere.
