I am a lifelong West Virginian and die hard WVU fan. I love working with customers and helping them with their insurance needs. I feel so proud to be from West Virginia and serve customers here and in the neighboring states of PA and MD as well.
THE ABSOLUTE WORST. We are 10 months into a water leak on our townhouse in Morgantown, WV. These agents have done NOTHING to support the customers. They cut the budget down 20k causing us to need MORE RENOVATION! We could still see visible water damage and they said the job was “done.” No one from Allstate even stepped foot inside the house. Said they would pay for food, but no housing for our family. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

1. Multiple Assessments with Identical Findings
Allstate has sent multiple appraisers to inspect the damage, and each has returned with the exact same assessment. While consistency is expected to some degree, the uniformity of these reports suggests a lack of independent evaluation. It appears the subsequent inspections were not conducted to uncover new information but rather to reinforce the original findings.
2. Systematic Denial of Claims Under $30,000
Two independent attorneys have informed me with evidence that Allstate has a pattern of denying claims under $30,000, knowing that the cost and effort of legal recourse often outweigh the potential recovery for policyholders. This practice unfairly disadvantages customers and undermines the principle of good faith in insurance.
3. Insufficient Settlement Offer
The amount offered by Allstate does not cover the cost to repair even the damage your own appraisers identified. Furthermore, multiple contractors have stated that the roof is not designed to be repaired in the manner suggested by your team. Attempting to do so would compromise the integrity of the structure and violate industry standards.
4. Consistent Damage Across Neighborhood
Three separate contractors have confirmed that the storm damage to my roof is consistent with that of other homes in the area. In all those cases, insurance companies approved full roof replacements. This raises serious questions about the fairness and accuracy of Allstate’s assessment in my case.
5. Misrepresentation and Mishandling of Contractor Estimate
Your appraisers falsely claimed that my contractor agreed with their assessment. This is categorically untrue. When I attempted to clarify this, I was told Allstate never received the contractor’s estimate—despite having email proof that it was sent and received. This misrepresentation and mishandling of documentation are deeply concerning.
6. Difficulty moving forward with the Appraisal Clause
Having called multiple appraisal companies I was informed at each that West Virginia doesn’t have roof claim appraisers. The contractors I have worked with did not know of any. Limited or no access to this resource prevents my ability to move forward using the legal channels that ought to be available to consumers.
7. Allstate’s original and only offer is $700 above my deductible
Each contractor has estimated the damage from the storm to rance from $22,000 to $36,000 while Allstate has offered $5,700 plus $250 for damage to a grill which is only $700 above our deductible of $5,000 to fix the roof.
