I have been insured through Cindy Shumaker’s State Farm office for several years now, and I could not be happier with the service I’ve received. Before letting them quote me, I honestly thought I would not be able to afford it. Not only was I pleasantly surprised by the rate, but I also discovered that I could finally combine my home and auto policies. For years it had always been cheaper to split them, no matter how many quotes I got. While I intend to focus this review on their outstanding customer service and how it makes them worth more intrinsically, before someone reads it (like a former me who would have said, yeah, I bet they are expensive), I'm not kidding when I say they gave and continue to give me excellent rates for my policies. I wouldn't have even given them a chance if they had come in high, and I wouldn't have stayed if they did the routine: cheap year 1 (or 1st 6 months) and then make it rain with price hikes.
While everyone wants affordable coverage, what truly stands out about this agency is not the pricing but the people. I work directly with Margaret Newcomb, and she is outstanding in every way that matters. She remembers that I used to work night shifts and now have a demanding schedule as a healthcare professional back in school. She understands that it is not always easy for me to answer during regular business hours, and she always finds a way to make things work. That kind of understanding and flexibility is rare. Margaret makes sure we are on the right plan, that our coverage truly matches our needs, and that our home is properly protected. My previous homeowner's policy elsewhere didn’t actually cover what I thought it did, and she took the time to explain the difference. I researched it myself and found out she was absolutely right (At first, I thought I was just getting a sales pitch, because I’m so used to being “handled.). I am not related to anyone at this agency and have no reason to write this review except for two simple ones: excellent service deserves recognition, and people who appreciate good service should know where to find it. State Farm through this office is far more affordable than many expect, and the level of care they provide is something you just cannot put a price on (even while they are actually quite competitive).
For years I used to switch insurance companies almost every renewal because prices would spike without reason even though I had no claims or tickets. Either they thought I wasn't paying attention and could slide in a 30% or more rate hike, or I was being punished for loyalty.
