I was quoted a first payment of $561.74 (with a past balance included), but when I called to clarify, a representative charged my card $75.89 without my permission. Later, I was also charged $561.45, and even after showing proof from my bank and receiving a “Welcome to GEICO” email, supervisors kept telling me I didn’t have a policy. I spent over 4 hours on the phone, was transferred multiple times, and treated rudely by supervisors who refused to acknowledge the mistakes. In the end, GEICO charged me without consent and canceled my policy, leaving me with no coverage after taking my money. I expected honesty and professionalism from a major insurance company, but instead I was misinformed, overcharged, and dismissed. I’m now disputing the charges with my bank and filing complaints with the state insurance commissioner. Be cautious this company mishandled my account and gave me the runaround when I tried to fix it.
