- DCDanny Cleary5 days ago1.0I have never used Colonial Penn Life Insurance. Don't be misled by the TV commercials. The "as little as" $9.95 a month gets you a measly $1,000 death benefit. It is also a 2 year limited benefit period. $1,000 won't even put a dent in your funeral costs. READ THE FINE PRINT. I can only imagine how many seniors have been taken advantage of by this. Shameful LMAO!! I see they're nothing but 1 star reviews. A much better option is Savings Bank Life Insurance (SBLI). Really decent plans for reasonable costs. Just my thoughts through experience.

Your actual insurance rate for a REAL policy will cost you hundreds of dollars. This is a big case of false advertising. They need to be sued. I was shocked when I called colonial penn.
