- LSLevi SikkemaJan 5, 20261.0I’d be careful before getting a policy with Howard or David. Here in Bend we understand the risks tied to wildfires, even more so the risk of your insurance company trying to find a way to weasel their way out of your coverage. That’s exactly what happened here. My home underwent a renovation and unbeknownst to me had a time limit tied to it. Renovations were completed over a year ago - Allstate informed me that my policy was canceled. I told them that renovations had been completed a year ago - their response is that the timeline had already lapsed and Allstate is now refusing to cover the home due to the updated wildfire map. All Howard needed to do here was a make a quick phone call or email to me to ask if it had been completed. When asked why he or his team didn’t do that he responded they get “busy.” Even worse than that - I have a voicemail where they state that the policy had the construction/renovation portion removed and that my policy is fully active. I have provided them said voicemail as well as the Oregon Division of Financial Regulation - where I’ve filed a complaint. If you do business here - be prepared to be let down. Corporate profit won again vs doing what is right for their client. This community is too tight knit to do business with people who respond this way.
