I am extremely disappointed with Value City Furniture and how poorly they handle their warranty claims. We bought our furniture less than a year ago, and after 10 months, we discovered a clear structural issue — the wood on the back of the furniture is soft, weak, and sinking in. This is exactly the type of problem that should be covered under their 1-year manufacturer warranty.
But instead of helping, Value City did everything they could to avoid dealing with the issue.
On the very first phone call, the representative brushed us off and claimed they couldn’t take the claim, telling us it had to be submitted to the Falls Church, VA store. When we contacted the store, they then told us to call the insurance company we purchased protection from. The insurance company immediately confirmed it is not an insurance claim — this is structural damage, and structural issues are covered by Value City’s one-year warranty, not by the insurance policy.
To make things worse, because we moved after the purchase, Value City tried to blame the issue on the movers — even though the damage is internal, not visible on the outside, and clearly a manufacturing defect. The furniture looks perfectly fine from the outside; the problem is only noticeable when you press the back and feel the wood sinking inward. This is not caused by movers; it is a poor-quality internal build that has deteriorated under normal use.

I had a great experience here! The gentleman in the store who greeted me, didn't hassle me, he gave me my time and space to walk around and look and then he was there when I needed him! The delivery team was on time, professional and respectful! Overall it was an easy and great experience!

Came to the Falls Church Value City today to buy a couch for our new home. Reida was great — genuinely helpful and the reason we chose this location over the closer Woodbridge store.
Unfortunately, the sales manager Ajarmeh completely ruined the experience. He approached us with a rude, dismissive attitude, handed us a small discount without even looking at us, and walked away while we were still talking. Very unprofessional.
We liked the couch, but the way we were treated made us leave without buying anything. Reida deserves credit, but the management experience was disappointing.

I came into the Falls Church Value City today excited to buy a couch with my fiancé, and our experience with Reida was amazing. He was kind, patient, and genuinely helpful, which is the only reason we chose to drive to this location even though we live in Woodbridge and were closer to another store.
Unfortunately, our interaction with the sales manager Ajarmeh completely ruined the experience. He approached us with a rude, dismissive attitude, asked “what’s the issue” in a condescending tone, and never tried to actually help. When he handed us a small discount, he wouldn’t even look at us, and he walked away while I was explaining how uncomfortable his behavior made us feel. Incredibly unprofessional.
We’ve bought from Value City many times before and even dealt with delayed deliveries, but this experience pushed us to consider buying our furniture elsewhere. We genuinely liked the couch we picked out, but we left the store not wanting to purchase anything at all.
Reida deserves recognition for his service, but Ajarmeh’s behavior was unacceptable. Very disappointing experience.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience really pushed me to.
On October 15th, I went to Value City Furniture at this location to purchase a sectional sofa for my new place. The sofa comes in multiple pieces (around 6–8), and I loved the color the moment I saw it. I decided to buy seven pieces, but the salesperson told me this particular color wouldn’t be in stock until November 20th, with delivery set for November 24th. One piece would even be delayed until December 20th which I accepted, since I was moving on November 5th and was willing to wait a few weeks.
Fast forward to today: I went back to the store just to change my delivery date from November 24th to November 21st only a few days earlier. When the salesperson looked up my order, she told me my entire delivery had been pushed back to January 28th of next year! I was shocked. I asked when they planned to notify me, and she said “a week before the delivery date.” That means they expected me to find out after waiting over three months that I’d need to wait another month or more completely unacceptable.
I told her that was crazy and that I’d shop around before deciding whether to cancel. I went straight to Bob’s Furniture, where unbelievably they had the exact same sectional, same color, same price, and could guarantee delivery in three days. I bought it on the spot.
Then I went back to Value City and canceled my order. I told them honestly you need to step up your game, because waiting four months for a sofa while another store delivers the same one in three days is ridiculous.
I’m only writing this review because this kind of delay and lack of communication should not be considered normal.
