- DMDavey MartinezSep 23, 20232.0The key material is very cheap. It almost feels like they cured some aluminum metal, heat treated it to try to harden it and that’s what the KeyMe machine spits out. If for some reason you’re in a rush and your key gets stuck in the core while you’re moving, it feels like it could easily bend and break. I know metals are expensive but $10 for an automated cut is too much for a process that seems to have no one man it, or service it for a while. Let me know if I’m wrong. Until then, I have to be extremely careful with this key not getting caught on anything.
