- JHJan Hirsch4 days ago2.0Review of Tempur-Pedic Flagship Store – Birmingham, AL (Summit) I recently visited the Tempur-Pedic Flagship Store at the Summit in Birmingham with the intention of purchasing two Extra-Long Twin adjustable Ergo bases for mattresses we already owned. I worked with salesman Mark Janus, who was patient and genuinely helpful. Based on his explanation of the options, I initially purchased one Power Base and one Smart Base (an additional $300) that was supposed to raise my husband’s head if he snored. The total came to about $2,300, and Mark rang it up on my credit card. After asking more questions, I realized the Smart Base wasn’t practical for us. I requested that the order be changed to two Power Bases instead, saving $300. Unfortunately, due to rigid corporate policies, Mark was unable to void the transaction and re-run my card. Instead, he had to process a reimbursement request. Even worse, he couldn’t provide a receipt for the refund—my only proof was a screenshot from his computer. I was told the credit would take 2–3 weeks. I was furious! Delivery was another headache. I was supposed to be contacted within a week, but it took two weeks just to be notified that only one base had arrived. I refused partial delivery, and after another week and multiple phone calls, the second base finally came in and got delivered 3 weeks after my order in the store. And it took a full month before I received my $300 refund, ridulous! The staff themselves were wonderful and tried their best, but their hands were tied by poor corporate policies that made the entire experience unnecessarily frustrating. I love Tempur-Pedic products, but I will never shop at the Flagship store again. If you value smooth transactions, timely delivery, and straightforward customer service, I cannot recommend this location.

Can I use my current frame with my Tempur-Pedic Mattress?
Yes. We design our mattresses to fit most standard size bed furniture and frames.
Unless your product was not designed for the U.S. market, or is an unusual size, our mattresses should fit.
If you have any question about whether a Tempur-Pedic mattress will fit your bed or furniture frame, we recommend that you refer to the specific product dimensions.
If you choose not to purchase our foundation, you must position the mattress on a completely flat, solid surface with adequate center support.
If you have a slatted foundation, we recommend using slats that are at least 3 inches wide and are no more than 4 inches apart.
Please note that using the mattress without a Tempur-Pedic foundation or similar firm, solid-surface, non-spring base may void the warranty.
How does my new mattress arrive?
With the exception of our TEMPUR-Cloud, select mattresses arrive with White Glove delivery. With our free White Glove delivery, your mattress will arrive in a plastic covering which will be removed upon delivery for set up.
The TEMPUR-Cloud is a convenient option at a lower price that ships to your door compressed in a bag for you to set up on your own time. This design makes the TEMPUR-Cloud great for those who have narrow hallways or doorways, live in apartments, or want to have a contact-free delivery! The TEMPUR-Cloud does not receive our White Glove delivery as it is shipped via UPS. This means that it will be delivered to your door and removal of your old mattress is not available.
What is the difference between Medium & Medium Hybrid in feel?
Tempur-Pedic’s hybrids are like no other, because our innovative coil system works in combination with one-of-a-kind TEMPUR® Material to deliver unmatched pressure relief and support — plus, a more “responsive” feel from the premium coils that sleepers may prefer. This makes our hybrids a perfect introduction to Tempur-Pedic (and a welcome upgrade!) if you’ve only slept on traditional spring mattresses in the past.
While our hybrid mattress options are best described as “medium,” they’re created a bit differently than our other medium-feel mattresses. Our non-hybrid mattresses are constructed entirely of our legendary TEMPUR® materials (placed on top of a foam base layer), while our Medium Hybrid options contain a 1000+ coil system to provide all the pressure relief and support you expect from a Tempur-Pedic mattress — with the added “bounce” from the coils.
Another difference? Our Medium Hybrid mattresses are created using our softest material available, TEMPUR-ES™, so our hybrids tend to feel slightly softer than our Medium, non-hybrid options. If a hybrid is starting to sound like a great fit, you can choose between our TEMPUR-Adapt®, TEMPUR-ProAdapt®, and TEMPUR-PRObreeze° models.
