  Nice enough place but their care prices skyrocket once they have your loved one! I was told that the price you sign off on as part of the lease is " an estimate" and that cost hikes are effective immediately! I've had suggested increases of over $2000 and my loved one has only been there 3 days!

  This is not the place for your loved one unless you plan on providing most of the care yourself which seems to defeat the purpose of assisted living and care. There is not enough staff to provide a basic level of care for residents (i.e. feeding, dressing, bathing, administering medication, etc.) and some of those who are working seem to be too busy on their phones to be bothered to care for residents . Staff has an excuse for every situation and takes no accountability for the lack of care provided. Please do your loved one a favor and continue your search for a better care facility.

  My mom was placed here for a year before we made the decision to move her to another memory care facility where she is now getting much better care. For the price Brookdale charges, the care, cleanliness, communication and all-around management are VERY inferior. Upon leaving, we were promised reimbursement for missing clothing and linens - which was never paid to us. This placement was a huge disappointment on so many levels. Would not recommend to anyone. Reason for two stars is that the Activities Director was very good; otherwise I'd give it a single star.

  I knew the moment I walked into Brookdale Manor in Sun Prairie that I had found the right place for my husband's new home. Bill has advanced Alzheimer's and the care at the place where he had been was no longer adequate. When the Administrative staff know all the residents and often walk them down the halls, when the caregivers smile and treat the residents with respect, when the place is always clean and good smelling (partly due to the smells from the kitchen :-), you feel reassured that this is a good place. Two days after I had moved Bill into his new room, and new home, he sat next to me on a couch in the "living room" and looked at me and said "I am happy." Pretty wonderful for a man with nearly complete aphasia. And so, I am happy and more relaxed than I have been for a long time. I am SO GRATEFUL to all the staff at Brookdale Manor!
