Planned Parenthood did a door knocking campaign when we lived on the east side of Madison and we agreed to give a donation. The representative said they couldn't accept a one-time donation but that they could process a credit card and that they would automatically withdraw the same amount every month. She assured us that these auto-donations could be cancelled at any time.
After the first month, we called to cancel and were told that it successfully went through - that we were no longer getting monthly charges. Well, because the donations were small enough that they flew under the radar, it wasn't noticed for well over a year that they were still getting donations. They never cancelled the monthly auto-donations. We thought 'Okay, maybe this is nefarious and maybe it's an accident, let's assume the latter and call them again and ask them to cancel.'
When we called next, we were, again, assured that the auto-donation payments had been cancelled. Yet, the next month rolled around and we were charged again. The next time we called, it became harder to reach someone. The time after that, even harder. They kept bouncing us around from department to department, desk to desk, saying 'This person handles it, not me,' until we'd reach a voicemail box for someone who would never call back. We called again and again and again and it got to the point where no one would pick up the call, ever. All the while, we kept getting charged for the monthly auto-donations that we didn't want to give.
Eventually, we had to go to the credit card company and try to block them from withdrawing from that account. The credit card company said they did that for us yet we still got another charge the following month. We also tried reversing the charges but nothing came of it. In the end, the solution was to cancel the card entirely. That was the only way to get Planned Parenthood to stop stealing money from us - to cancel our card.
I've never heard of such a sneaky, abhorrent way to get money from people. We wanted to donate to them in the first place because we believe in what they do for the people but never again. We lost hundreds of dollars to them - money that we did not consent to give.
And yet they have the audacity to continue to send us letters in the mail asking us for donations.

Planned parenthood is full of amazing doctors and nurses. Never had a problem with anyone.. except for a women named Celia. She not only is extremely rude and talks for the doctors you wish to speak too, she answers for them and assumes things during what should be an easy going phone call. If she gets too frustrated she hangs up on you or talks over you .. everytime. This women should not be near any health care profession. Myself and my girl friend both have had poor experiences with her. She is very careless and rude.
Otherwise planned parenthood is a safe space for women to go and does preform safe abortions.

Left RPOC, however told me everything had passed through with an ultrasound for “confirmation” …After I was told all the tissue has passed they inserted the Copper IUD (painful but staff was nice). 3 weeks later I got the Copper IUD removed from excruciating painful cramps, even after I called Planned Parenthood twice about the pain. All they said was the IUD will come out if it’s rejecting and to leave it be. Not even a day later i was taken to the hospital through ambulance and admitted because I was hemorrhaging internally seems not all of the conception tissue was removed before iud insertion at planned parenthood…staff was nice but missed a huge error that almost led to me bleeding out…
