In the beginning I felt as though treatment and care for my pregnancy was going well; however, as it progressed there were things I did not care for. I set up a payment plan, as per the request of the receptionist. They were to bill me monthly, and the payments were set up to come out automatically. One month they billed three times…she claimed it wasn’t so, until I showed proof. They refunded two of those payments. It hasn’t been consistent since. No more emails received showing proof they’ve been pulling the charges as I signed for. I’ve already had my baby, and we were supposed to be complete with the payment plan; however, I keep receiving bills in the mail. As far as the treatment goes, there were plenty of instances where I felt unheard by Dr. Raj. I have had one medical diagnosis of pre-eclampsia, and my second baby that I knew ended up also being such, was not diagnosed but I have proof of protein in my urine and my BP was elevated so they induced at 37 wks. I told her ALL of that numerous times, and she even asked again as though she’d forgotten (or didn’t care). I started feeling really unwell towards the end of my pregnancy, and was tracking my BP bc they are a small clinic and only do dipstick urine checks and don’t send urine to the labs. My BP had been fluctuating for a few weeks but I felt I wasn’t taken seriously. I have labs that were off, from the hospital, but no explanation. I’ve had my baby, was supposed to attend my 6 week appt and ended up being sick, so I rescheduled. Their medical assistant called me the day prior to my appointment, not even 24 hrs in between (mind you I would have been charged had I done that) saying it’s no longer within the 6 week appointment and I didn’t really need to be seen unless I felt there were issues. Where is the care and compassion? I had high BP, and they don’t even want to check that everything has gone back to normal? I did have questions but feel uncomfortable going back to ask. She wasn’t rude with her tone but made it very clear I didn’t need to be seen. When Dr. Raj came into the hospital after I’d had my daughter she didn’t even look at her or say congratulations. Where is the kindness in people nowadays? Everyone seems so heartless and too busy to show they care. We as women entrust others with our and our children’s lives when we come to them for prenatal care, you’d think there would be better attempts at establishing even a surface relationship to make the mother feel cared for. After I had my baby I was trying to get documents completed so my mom could help me in the first few weeks. I ended up being diagnosed with gestational hypertension, which they KNEW but initially refused to complete the paperwork showing I needed help. The medical assistant sent an email to me saying if I’d been diagnosed she would fill it out showing I needed help. I told her I was. They ended up completing it saying I needed help due to my mental health…because I had disclosed I was overwhelmed with this process as we’d been going back and forth with the paperwork. I just feel like they are selective towards who they treat kindly. It wasn’t a terrible experience but not a great one.
