I used to love this Pharmacy before it was Safeway.
I’ve come here for 10 years and I used to feel like a customer, the pharmacist when it was Albertsons was always friendly and he remembered my name. Now I am just a number and they are too busy to be concerned about the people who fill scripts with them.
I had been trying to get my doctor to send my rx all day Friday because I needed to leave at 10am for the one week of vacation i take all year. For whatever reason they didn’t do it Friday and sent it over first thing Saturday morning, 9am.
Safeway opens at 10 am, they of course are not able to answer my calls, because they were probably busy. I sent my husband to ask them to please fill it urgently, and he was told it would be 2 hours.
I went back and tried to explain to the pharmacist I know this is not their fault or problem, I just need this medication and I also have a car full of people who are going to miss a flight for our vacation. I wasn’t able to fully explain. I was trying so hard not to cry. She said she had other people ahead of me that are also waiting and she is the only one there who can do the work. The pharmacist is busy, I do know this and I wish I did not have to be in a position to ask them to rush something because it’s uncomfortable for me already. She ended up filling the rx 20 minutes later (about an hour after my husband was in originally), the entire 20 minutes I was waiting I stood there silently crying because the last 24 hours trying to get this done has been so stressful. We hit traffic and missed our flight.
I know you are busy, I’m sorry I inconvenienced you this morning. I’m going to do my part to help you with your workload and switch my family to a new pharmacy. I hope it helps you find more balance in your work and gives you time to help and be kind to the other customers you have, especially the ones who are experiencing a situation outside of their control. Please be well, and thank you for finding the time to fill my medication today.

Friendly and helpful staff. They just need more help in answering phone and counter assistance. They do the best they can with shortness of employees.

One of the most painful experiences you'll have and you're likely unwell doing this. That only reason I've used this pharmacy is because it's after hours or the weekend and so Costco is closed. Exactly two people work at this location. That's the first reasoning they give you. I get it Tumwater has a lack of pharmacies especially after 7pm. How about do better? No they accept failure.
You wait ages and ages even after calling. Then you get there and wait in line only to find out some or all of your things aren't ready. And these are things sent in all at once by the same provider. It's exactly what Amazon says the pharmacy is painful experience when you're sick.
I've waited longer for the prescription than I waited for the diagnosis of my illness.
And the thing is it's not painful at my normal pharmacy - Costco.
Do anything you can do not to come here. But I get it if you're sick and everything else is closed.
