If you have a choice, I'd opt out of this pharmacy. Frequently out of my meds, never answer the phone, tell me to come back the next day, still the meds aren't available. Such a hassle. I feel sorry for the people working there, they look miserable.

They don't pick up the phone or call back, as many others have stated. But hey, you won't wait in line for a half hour like the Safeway Pharmacy on 35th.
The staff is professional, I'm sure this is management/ownership's refusal to adequately staff. Support your fellow workers.

I honestly feel pretty bummed about this pharmacy. I’ve used many different Safeway pharmacies over the years and haven’t encountered issues with any of them so was hoping this location would be the same! But I think, truly, they are too understaffed to be able to fulfill even the most basic tenets of the job.
I’d really encourage Safeway corporate to consider staffing this location adequately, because it is impacting customers negatively and significantly. It’s virtually impossible to get ahold of pharmacy staff over the phone—which is concerning because that’s pretty much the only way to contact them (besides driving all the way out and back to check in with pharmacy staff in person, which is not a tenable long-term solution).
This becomes increasingly problematic when time-sensitive, life-altering medications are at stake. I am on a medication that I have to take every day and is one of the only current treatments for my chronic illness. Without it, my symptoms become disabling. Yet, despite my repeated attempts (as well as the attempts of a Safeway pharmacist at a different location) to contact the staff here, I was unable to connect with anyone regarding my prescription. It got to the point where I was down to one days’ worth of medication and still had not heard anything.
So, I drove out to the pharmacy to ask my question in person. Upon discussing things with the pharmacy tech, I learned my medicine was out of stock. It has been out of stock each time I’ve tried to fill my prescription here for the last 3 months! I know that aspect of things is out of staff’s control and don’t fault them for it.
What was really hurtful, though, was that the pharmacy tech genuinely just did not seem to care. You could tell they could not care less whether I (or any of the other people who need it!) got the medication. This flippant, indifferent approach has been a repeated pattern in my time at this pharmacy. Staff’s responses to medicine shortages are “We don’t know when it will be in stock. It could be a few weeks or a few months.” Their care for the patient seems to start, and end, there. This seeming lack of concern for patient safety, health, and wellbeing really has had a negative impact on my time here.
I love some of the individual people I’ve interacted with at this pharmacy and hope that the location is staffed adequately moving forward, so patients can be well taken care of!
