Zero stars. I don’t blame the front-line staff — they’re doing their best under impossible conditions and remain polite despite the chaos. But corporate leadership should be ashamed of the chronic understaffing and lack of compassion. This pharmacy is critically short-handed. The line often stretches halfway across the store, and it can take twenty minutes or much more to be helped. When a problem is this bad for this long, customers should at least have a place to sit and a way to keep some distance from those who are sick. Instead of supporting health, Safeway’s actions are actively working against it. I challenge the CEO or a VP to spend two weeks behind this pharmacy counter — and then stand in line as a customer while carrying 50 pounds on one side of their body the entire time (to have a sense of not being in top physical condition). Maybe then they’d feel some responsibility toward the people they serve. Oh, and swap salaries while you’re at it. Please don’t respond with another scripted apology or link to your website. I’m not impressed with the responses I’ve seen made to other commenters. Tell all of us how you are going to fix this and when. Right here, for the whole community to hear. No, “it’s a tough time to hire” is not an acceptable excuse; other pharmacies are managing far better. You already know this is a serious, ongoing issue — you’re just choosing not to fix it.

Corporate STILL needs to hire more people!!! It’s clear corporate execs want profit over employee wellness and customer satisfaction (even the bare minimum). There’s one pharmacy in Ballard. I can’t fill certain meds via the app and NO ONE (literally) answers the phone to refill that way. Staff is great given their leadership sucks at managing stores. This is America! Isn’t it GREAT?! Don’t get a your vaccines here if you’re in a hurry. I showed up and they wanted me to wait in the pick up pharmacy line 10 people deep. Not sure why they schedule timed appointments if that’s the case.

Kelsey the pharmacist was incredibly rude, talked over me, and had zero empathy. Take your RX and pharmacy needs elsewhere.

In person experience is okay but a lot of times staff doesn't know what to do and gets manager involved. Getting someone on the phone to answer a simple flipping question IMPOSSIBLE. I've tried all different times of day for over a week and they never answer and NEVER return calls.

Gross negligence—surprised they haven’t been sued to extinction yet.
