- CMChelle MajeskiFeb 23, 20191.0Think twice about putting your vulnerable loved ones under the care of executive director, Jerry Lee. He was involved in elder abuse against my dad, breaking three laws in the process. Because he was just an interim director for the facility my dad was in, they quietly just removed him and allowed him to continue in the Harbor Bay facility. If your parent has dementia, put them somewhere they will be cared for. It might not be here. And to their reply below: I did call the 877 number and talked to the district director and regional director. The district director, Jim Coumbs, had absolutely NO compassion for my dad and was just covering their errors in staffing. So, don't expect any help from corporate when you need it.

This is a specialized memory care facility (there is another Brookdale in Gig Harbor which is assisted living - two different facilities). I have been very happy with the care he has received here. I spend time there almost every day, and I am very impressed with the caring staff and the concern for both the resident and the family members who are dealing with the devastating disease of dementia. I read the earlier review, which appears to be for the Brookdale Assisted Living, not Brookdale Harbor Bay. Brookdale Harbor Bay has an excellent reputation in the community, and I would recommend it as a possibility to explore if you are looking for Alzheimers/dementia care for a loved one.
