Absolutely stunned by the excellent level of care I received here today for an annual. Thank you so much. I was able to get an appointment quickly and the team went above and beyond in providing one of the best medical experiences I've ever had. Highly professional, timely, and thorough. The facility is very clean and nice as well. Highly recommended and I look forward to returning. Again, the treatment from the staff was second to none. They truly care and take pride in the work they do.

I moved here recently and haven't been able to find a doctor. The Barre location got me in very quickly. All of the staff I interacted with were so friendly. The providers seemed to all be trained to ask for consent before touching during the exam, and the exam itself was the smoothest and least painful I've ever had. They had some great advice for me when it came to a medication I wanted to switch to and they got me the Rx I needed. Navigating health care in VT has been difficult, but it was so comforting to know that Planned Parenthood still has a presence here and that they're still doing their thing. So pleased with my experience and will be back for sure.

I will never come back to Planned Parenthood again. I would rather suffer without care than go to them.
Firstly - at a well woman check up at the Williston location years ago I was completely violated by the provider. She was rough, abrasive, and not gentle at all with a speculum despite me showing obvious signs of pain. I left a review of my services (the kind where they send you an email for feedback) and never heard back from any representative regarding the violations I experienced.
Secondly - in March of this year I had a miscarriage. I was having sharp, stabbing, sudden pains around my right ovary area. I talked to the OB office at UVM and they were concerned I had an ectopic pregnancy that had ruptured. I was being seen by a private midwife at the time who doesn't offer ultrasounds. I wasn't an established UVMMC OBGYN was not able to get me in for an ultrasound. They advised that I go to the ER. I don't have health insurance and knew that the bill was going to be, at minimum, $2,000 for the ER so I simply could NOT afford it. They advised I try Planned Parenthood as they offer ultrasounds and prenatal care.
I called the scheduling office and told them my predicament and that I needed an ultrasound. I verified with my GYN office and OBGYN that an ultrasound was the ONLY was to be sure that I wasn't having an ectopic pregnancy. I was able to get an appointment with the Barre office that same day (1 hour 10 min drive from where I live). I arrived at the Barre office and had a pleasant experience with the girl who checked me in but that's where the pleasantness ended.
Firstly, nobody ever advised me on cost or that the ultrasound may not be performed. They had me do a urine pregnancy test, which costs $17 AFTER sliding scale. At that rate, I could have brought some from home and performed it myself. I then met with the "midwife" at PP which was an AWFUL experience. She and her toxic positivity were completely unsensitive to the loss of my second WANTED pregnancy. Don't get me wrong, I am pro-choice, but it felt like she had NO empathy to the fact that I had a second miscarriage and both babies were very wanted. She proceeded to tell me that she was not going to perform the ultrasound because the test was negative. I informed her that two other professionals for women's care from two different offices said I NEED an ultrasound to verify for sure that my reproductive system was okay and there was no evidence of an ectopic pregnancy. She completely dismissed any and every concern I had, she wasn't sensitive to my grief or emotional pain AT. ALL.
When I checked out, nobody ever said anything about me having to pay for the services. Months later I receive a bill in the mail demanding payment for services I did not consent to! If they would have told me on the phone, at check in, or any other time that I would not be getting an ultrasound, I never would have come in. I tried to dispute the bill with the PP of NNE financial department and they didn't care at all about what I was saying and just wanted $$$. I ended up having to pay the bill because I won't risk going to collections.
I would never EVER (!!!!) recommend prenatal care at PP. I wouldn't recommend care at all based on my experience in Barre and in Williston. It was horrible and NOBODY has reached out to me regarding my complaints.

High quality patient focused care.
I made a wellness appointment with Planned Parenthood of Barre after my doctor moved and I found long waiting lists in our local health care desert. I was pleased that PP offered not only online scheduling but had openings in less than two weeks. I went to my appointment not knowing what to expect and it was truly the best patient care I have ever received.
All of the staff were friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. My comfort, concerns, and consent were the primary focus. This is the first time I left an appointment without having that one question I forgot to ask. I was treated by the Medical Assistant and the Provider as if I was their only patient of focus, not like there was a 15 minute timer on my forehead.
Planned Parenthood of Barre provides patient care but as importantly they actually show care for their patients.

Charged me $30.00 to literally ask me questions and offer a service for free. Don't charge people $30.00 to talk to them about a few service. I'm really disgusted with that. This place is supposed to be there to help lower income people and they charge you just to talk about a free service? Yeah. Trash.
Tried to get them to remove it because it's a horrible way to do things and they just called and wanted to talk about ways to pay. How about not charging people at all just to say hey we offer this free service?
